I bought 6 of these for my flower boxes. I originally had two old Flower box holders that i decided to get new holders because they werent looking so hot (rusty and no paint). I received them and placed my 36" planter, as these are advertised to hold, and it bent the <cheap> metal and almost fell to the ground. Not worht sending back for a refund, i ended up doubling up 3 flower boxes with 2 of these Holders each and used the other, older holders on the outside area.

The shape was exactly what i was looking for, the product is made out of cheap metal and will not hold a 36" box as advertised.

Unhappy with the product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for those skinny iron railings, June 29, 2009

The long black HoldAll plant holder is constructed of somewhat skinnier pieces of coated metal, making the holder seem slightly less sturdy than its white counterpart. Despite this, I have had no problem with it holding my heavy planters, all through a weeks worth of storms and 35 mile an hour winds. These do not tip, bend, or sag, and the over railing hook pieces fit perfectly on those narrow black iron fences. Just line up the back support bar over two vertical fence bars and your planter will be able to weather nearly anything! I'm on the search for more of these as I purchased them on 6/21/09 from OzBo (now out of stock in them) through Amazon for less than $7.00. For less than $10 they're practically a steal considering how useful they are!

i bought 5 of these last year plus 4 of the round pot holders. They did an amazing job and are way cheaper than alternatives i have seen. I used 30 inch light weight plastic window box planters in them and they held them just fine. Had them stuffed and overflowing with flowers. They do lean forward a bit and need something behind them to keep them from leaning too far forward. If only i had more space on my railings I would order more!

4.0 out of 5 stars I like it, April 30, 2010

I like it. It looks exactly like in picture and holds my heavy pot well. I searched for like this in my local home development store but never find the one which will fit into my skinny railing. So it is perfect. I am hoping it will not fall in heavy windy and rainy day.
Pros: fit for skinny railing, cheap.
cons:shipping cost is too much, almost same as its price. Make it altogether 15 to 16 dollars.

I've been looking for one of these forever. I bought two of them and put them on the railing right in front of my door. They really dress up the railing. The price is great and the containers I bought fit in nice and snug. Seems like they'll last a long time too.

After reading the previous reviews, I decided to purchase two and buy plastic 18" plant containers to keep the weight to a minimum. Out of the box, one rests perfectly on the railing and is not influenced by the weight of the container. The second one droops several degrees so the plant container (smaller than the HoldAll Holder) slides to the front and is at an angle. Not ideal. I haven't seen another skinny iron railing solution, so this will do for now. I am considering trying to bend the metal to make a better fit, but I don't want to reduce what limited strength it has, so I may try and cut a piece of plywood to stick under the bar that cantilevers the weight off of the rails to support it some.

I bought this hoping to hang my flower box on my porch railing. It looked like an awesome deal. I got the product in the mail and it is pretty flimsy. I hung it on my railing and put the flower box on it and it immediately bent and had I not been holding part of the weight would have spilled onto the floor. I have a 32 inch flower box and it is what I would consider average weight for what it is. I even tried putting two of these flower boxes holders next to each other and sitting one flower box on both to distribute the weight and it still bent and was about to fall off. The crummy part is that the seller does not refund shipping. The shipping is more expensive than the product so if you want to return the item it will cost you more money. So basically it is trash.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good for plants as well as a place to rest my bags at the front door, July 10, 2011
This review is from: Amertac 5022BL Railing Flower Box Holder, Black (Lawn & Patio)
I grow strawberries, wild straberries and herbs in the flower boxes on my desk. I have large (36"), medium (27") and smaller (24") flower boxes.

The small flower boxes are hanging on the wrought iron railings of my deck using these railing holders. They fit well and these holder hold flower boxes securely. The holders made it well though strong winds and surviving a winter without rusting.

In addition to holding planters I put one of these hangers on the railing on my front steps near the door. When I come with a bag of groceries, my larger purse, or a backpack I have a place to rest my stuff while I am opening the door. When railing is empty is barely noticeable on my wrought iron railing.

Overall, I am very pleased with these hangers and will buy them again if I need another one.
