I bought some o this from a local store, so this is a review of the product, not this particular seller.

This product is amazing. I did loads of research before settling on this blue max and I'm glad I did. My basement used to be a lake, now it's working it's way to bone dry even after 3 solid days of rain. My basement was just a dirt floor, so this wasn't the whole solution. I painted this on the walls once I filled any gaps with a quick set mortar mix. I also ran a french drain around the inside perimeter of the basement. If water is penetrating the block, it is important to give it a way out. I left about 3 inches at the bottom of the block unpainted for the water to escape there and straight into the french drain system to be dumped right back outside. I also laid down a thick vapor barrier and ran it a few inches up the wall so the water that I let through came in below the vapor barrier. So far, so good. The only negative is the coverage of the paint. You need about 2 gallons per 100 square feet to get the thickness you need, and you need to put it on in one continuous application for it to work best.

I bought Ames Blue Max to seal the inside of a rainwater cistern. It was the most cost effective solution I found for this purpose. It required 10 gallons of the stuff in three coats to produce a totally waterproof lining. I bought mine at acehardware.com and had it shipped free to my local Ace Hardware store for a far more reasonable cost.

I applied the rubberized paint to the ICF walls and concrete floor of the cistern using a paint brush and roller. The material is a deep blue color which required little mixing. It's very smooth and quite thick so it's easy to apply. Cleanup was a snap with plain water.

Blue Max has an odor which was quite strong in the enclosed confines of the cistern. I didn't rig up supplementary ventilation initially. I would advise doing so if using the product where it's not exposed to the open air. Blue Max dies through evaporation, and as it does so it turns from a dark to a translucent blue. It took two weeks for the coating to dry thoroughly, and then only after setting up a fan to ventilate the cistern with drier air. Even after two weeks the coating was still slightly tacky. I was told this is normal and provides a strong bond for one of Ames' overcoatings on roofs or interior basement walls, for example. You should figure in the cost of the overcoating if you plan to use Blue Max in these situations. For me it wasn't necessary.

I can't say at this point what the durability of Blue Max is in my application. The recommended 30 mil thickness for cistern coatings should provide adequate waterproofing, but it will take some time to verify this. The tank needs to be cleaned yearly, so we'll see how it stands up to scrub brushing. I don't anticipate a problem. The coating is tough but remains flexible after curing, so I'm also not expecting it to fail should a crack develop in the concrete or at the ICF joints. I did apply Ames' "Peel and Stick" reinforcing tape at the intersection of the ICF walls and the concrete floor as recommended where there is likely to be some separation in time.

Blue Max is a good product and you'll experience first rate technical support from Ames Reserach should you need it.

Used Blue Max three years ago to seal the outside of our foundation. Have had more rain this year than ever, and have had no problems with water coming in. Not even the musty smell we used to get downstairs. This was the first year we really had a good test for the Blue Max and I am really pleased with it. Glad I went to the trouble of applying it. By trouble, I really mean expense. No, it's not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Not difficult to apply, just different. It was like painting with pudding, consistency-wise. I'd certainly use it again if I had a need to.

What is Ames'® Blue Max®?
Ames'® Blue Max® is a special blend of adhesive, high strength elastomeric liquid rubber. It is a new, impenetrable, rubber technology for waterproofing in extreme wet situations such as flat roofs, below grade foundations, basement walls, cisterns, water troughs, catch basins, ponds and fountains. It is high in solids and dries to a tough 800% elastic membrane that resists cracking and peeling. Blue Max remains flexible from -30° to 150° F. Ames' Blue Max is impervious to water when applied in a uniform and seamless fashion with adequate millage. It flows into cracks and crevices as a liquid and sets up as a durable rubber to seal leaks wherever they occur. Ames' Blue Max is available in a thick trowel-grade for use as a filler, and a heavy duty sprayable grade. It dries to a translucent blue color.

Ames' Blue Max is also an excellent coating for ICF (insulated concrete forms), as well as metal, wood, concrete, and many other applications. The adhesive qualities in Ames' Blue Max actually glue surfaces together and strengthen wall construction. Ames' Blue Max out performs isocyanate urethanes, and works well as a primer and waterproofing membrane for Ames' products such as Ames'® Safe-T-Deck(tm), Ames'® Snow Seal®, Ames'® Maximum-Stretch(tm), Ames'® Block & Wall(tm), Ames'® Iron Coat(tm) and many other coatings. Ames' Blue Max must be top coated for UV protection in exterior applications.

This coating is waterbase and contains no petroleum. It is non-toxic, VOC-free, low odor, and environmentally friendly. It can be used as a potable water coating. Ames' Blue Max is easy to apply ~ simply roll, brush or spray. Clean up with water.
