Used by people without experience, it causes heart attacks.

This shovel does the job really well, and it's relatively cheap to boot.

This shovel is good to move a lot of freshly fallen snow, but is a bit "wobbly" when trying to push or scrape snow that has been packed down. The shovel is not recommended to try and break up ice on the ground, but over all is a good shovel to move a lot of fresh snow.

it is a sturdy shovel with one exception. they need to do a better job of connecting the handle to the shovel. I had to take the 2 self tapping screws out & put in 2 machine screws & locknuts. I had to do this because after 2 snowstorms, the self tapping screws became loose.

Nice to have it for when it does snow. The design is good too, real back saver versus the traditional straight shovel. The metal blade at the end is a nice touch too.

I purchased this item as a gift for my son, a resident of the Denver area. He reports much less back strain with the use of this shovel than other styles. Hard to believe that a snow shovel made him so happy, but the snowfall in the Denver area this winter made him really appreciate this gift!

I purchased this because It's what we use at work. Ours at work are going on five years and has never broken or become damaged. In fact I have chopped 6" inches of ice with this model and it Never broke. I don't understand what some of you are doing that rated this 1 or 2 stars...I'm sure we all would see some interesting things which it's not built for.

Trust me please...This is a great tool and I highly recommend it. Remember four-half years of use and NOT EVEN a screw has come lose.
When I tell you it's good it good or even better. If I rate something low you can trust me and I will offer the reasons or my findings why. I'm a NO BS person I don't blow smoke and I'm honest in my reviews unlike some. I encourage you to track my reviews. This is well worth your money. Offering an FYI --(Home Depot discontinued Ames True Temper 1627100 (this model) but I was able to find it here at Amazon by the product code #, model # and manufacture). It's the exact same thing we have at work.

!!! Reminder !!!--Folks you're shoveling snow ok ...It is NOT for sand, gravel, feed & grain, pig-slop, dirt or mud and it's certainly not meant for using your foot to shovel with! Only to be used by your hands for SNOW.
!!! WARNING !!! I do NOT recommend chopping ice, you could become injured by flying debris if the shovel breaks or even ice chunks and splinters --I know I'm a Safety man. So I said not to be abused...yes, I figured if I abused it than I can honestly say I put it through the test --which I did... I did the testing for you.

I bought this shovel in anticipation of the "3-5 inches" of snow that Southern Maryland was supposed to get this weekend. We ended up with 10-11 inches of light, fluffy snow, but this shovel handled it without difficulty.

The positive features of this shovel were it's stability and ergonomic design. The shovel was stable enough that I could pick up a full load of snow and carry it across the driveway without the shovel twisting and dropping snow. The ergonomic design kept the shovel surface parallel to the ground without me having to lean down too far. This was great with the light snow because it allowed me to get a full shovel-full on every scoop.

The only negative thing I have to say about the shovel is with regard to the handle. It is a plastic hand-hold, fastened to the aluminum handle with a small sheet-metal screw. During use the blue plastic handle developed a white line around it's circumference, passing through the screw. The fact that this weakness appeared after only 3 hours of use leads me to believe that this will eventually be where the shovel fails. Having only used the shovel for one day, I can't say how long that will take.

Overall, this shovel worked great for me and I would recommend it. However, if the next time it snows the handle breaks off in my hand, I'm not going to be happy.

I bought this because of good reviews and having a bad back, well now I will have to purchase another shovel as at the bend in the shovel designed to make it better and easier on my back (which it was) it bent completely back and now is of little use. I wish it came with some sort of warranty so they could prove they stand by their products. SO purchased January 17th 2014 RIP February 14 2014 . . . .

I bought two of these to replace an older model of the same shovel. They were slightly small but worked great this winter!
