I had previously bought some more expensive grass shears from my local home improvement store - not only did I get blisters from the lack of cushion on the handles (yes, I forgot to wear my garden gloves) but the blades rusted in the humidity of the summer. These are a far superior product - excellent value for the price. These shears have very comfortable handles, and I love the non-stick coating on the shears. These have been indispensible in the small areas and tight corners of my yard that I don't want to use my string trimmer.

These are built okay. Comfortable handle, good blades and such. There is a latch to keep the blades closed when not in use. The latch latches itself over and over while using them, Gets real irritating after a while. If you remove the wire latch, it solves the problem. Shouldn't have to alter a brand new tool but if you want to stay sane, you may have to.

I bought a different hand trimmer before this one, which was terrible. This one is sturdy and cuts well. I've had it for months now and the foam padding on the handles and the blades themselves have held up. Just what I was looking for in a trimmer.

I've been looking for a good, solid pair of grass shears for a while, something like my dad use to have from 50 years ago. I don't believe everything needs to be powered or rechargeable. I just want a tool that's going to last. It's nice to see there's a company still building tools to last. If these are oiled after each use and, maybe, sharpened periodically they should last the 40 years or so I've got left. When you get them in your hand you'll see what I mean. A quality tool.

Ship'd from AZ - 15th April - arrived today - 20th - Had almost hoped they would come next week as had promised neighbor they would get a 'test ride' around her more than 100 running feet of flowerbed bricks/edgings - Took less than 1.5 hour.

The grip is perfect - the cushioned handles are non-slip / blade length excellent - easy lock/unlock and rounded tips for safety - and 2 boot a 10 yr warranty -

Highly rec. over anything else on the market for the Ames' reliability.

These shears are sturdy - and comfortable on my almost 60 year old hands. I expect to put them to good use for many seasons.

The catch is not the easiest to manage, but is secure - most important.

My husband and I are pleased with these grass shears. They are quite comfortable; I did not get a blister after trimming grass along our steps and landscaping rocks. The shears cut the grass easily.

No latch issues on mine and they work great! Price is right and you couldn't get a better hand held functioning tool. Very well constructed with precision and effort free trimming.

My husband had an old pair of these shears, and sharpening them finally gave way to the request for a new pair. He's very happy with them--clips grass around shrubs much easier, and the handles are very comfortable. My only "negative" comment is that the shears almost seemed to have been used when they arrived--either that or the oil lubricant discolored the blades a little. All in all, a satisfactory purchase.

I am very pleased with the quality of this product. The cushioned handles makes the shears comfortable to use without getting blisters on my hands!
