The Ames work center hose cart is a great idea. It combines hidden storage, a long feed hose which is tucked into the side, a handy work top, a removable wash bucket and a reel which keeps the hose from tangling up by the use of a moving hose guide. The only problem with this ingenious invention is that the cart's handle is on the opposite side as its wheels, which makes for clumsy handling if you try to move it across a hilly or bumpy lawn. The reason for this odd placement is apparent; if the handle and wash bucket positions were switched, you couldn't turn the wheel crank without hitting the bucket. This could easily have been avoided by mounting the wash bucket on the front side of the cart. I still give it three stars; if I didn't need to move the cart often, it would rate five stars.

When I received this cart, the side caddy was not included. Although it is a good product I paid $116 for it & expected to receive what I thought I was paying for. Amazon had me contact AceOutlet, they responded by telling me to contact the manufacture, at that point I was tired dealing with it & will never get side caddy.

The cart itself is fine, but the hose to connect it to a water source leaves something to be desired. The fitting on the end opposite the cart is flimsy, of poor design and"blew off" the hose the first time it was used. We had to replace it before using it at all.

I've had this garden hose reel for about a year now. It was given to me by my father, who no longer needed it when he moved to a condo. So, it was probably about 2-3 years old when I received it.

The unit is attractive. Most other hose reels that I have had are your typical open ones where you can see the hose around the reel. In the past, I've always hidden them away in the garage after use because they were pretty ugly. This unit is enclosed and looks so much better, that I leave it out all the time. I thought that might be a problem with bugs wanting to make it their home, but that has not been the case so far.

The Auto-Track Hose Guide does its job well. It rolls the garden hose up nicely and neatly. I have two lengths of hose on this (probably about 150 feet) and the reel does a good job holding it with room to spare. The crank is easy to use.

I don't move the reel around much, so having the handle on the side opposite the wheels is not a big deal for me. If you move the reel around a lot, that will annoy you, however.

The top storage area is great! I store my sprinklers and hose nozzles in there, so they are always handy. Ames should have put a latch on that top, though. When a strong wind comes along, that lid will blow open and the hinge is starting to crack because of that. I solved that problem by putting a rock on top. I probably would have given this unit a perfect score if they had a latch.

The unit stores well. With the flat top of the storage area, I can move the reel into the garage for the winter and stack things on top of it.

I do get some leakage (drips) where the garden hose connects to the unit, but I've never known a hose reel yet that doesn't leak some.

I like this unit and it's capacity so much that I'm planning to get a second reel.

The plastic spigot that is used to attach the hose to the reel is very poor quality. It is so stripped that after a few weeks of use, the cart was leaking heavily. After 6 weeks, it will no longer hold the hose!
