Much More Than "An Introduction", But A Good Book.,

This book contains a lot of helpful information about the Amiga computer, such as which chips control what functions (very handy when trying to figure out exactly which chip you need to replace should a problem arise, Custom chip dumps to help troubleshooting, etc). But the title is kind of misleading, and this is much more than "An Introduction". Another thing is that this book assumes you are using the Kickstart v1.3 ROM (though most of the chip functions are in the same places for KS 2.x & 3.x). Still, it's a book that has saved me a lot of time on the odd occasion when I'm trying to pinpoint exactly why my Amiga is feeling kind of sickly, and I would recommend it on that count alone. This is definitely not one of those "For Dummies" books, but worthwhile for those who want to know more about how the best OS for home systems works so amazingly well, and yet is so compact. Amiga has been purchased by Gateway, so watch for the new super Amiga to hit the shelves by the year 2000. It will blow away any system on the market! Guaranteed!
