More About the Author

Samantha Jillian Bayarr, a former Paralegal, lives in an historic house in a small town in Florida with her husband, John, and a cat named Napoleon.

She founded Livingston Hall Publishers in 2002. Named for her great, great grandfather, Edward Livingston Hall, who owned a publishing house in the late 1800's, until his passing; Samantha resurrected this legacy as a way of honoring him for passing onto her his love for the written word.

Working in the production aspect of publishing has provided her with the expertise needed to produce develop and design books from the inside out. When it came time to publish her own work, her experience in the field lent her the ability to produce several genres, specializing in Christian Historical Romance, Amish Romance, and Amish Mysteries.

Her first book series, Little Wild Flower, an Amish Romance, was borne from her up-close encounters with the Amish community she lived near in Indiana until 1995 when she moved to Florida.

Well Samantha Bayarr did it again! While this is Book 2 a sequal to "Jacob's Daughter", it could stand alone, although I wholeheartedly encourage you to read "Jacob's Daughter" first.

This is a wonderful book about Lillian and Seth, who are in their twenties and were bypassed by fate to have been married earlier in life, as are most Amish couples. The antics of Lillian's sister Hannah in trying to "match" her with Seth are hilarious, seemingly negative, but ultimately the best possible result - to say the least. Samantha creates a wonderful seasaw atmosphere between Lillian and Seth as each are dubious as to the other's feeling and are hesitant to take the first step to avoid being disappointed.

The descriptive scenery with which Samatha treats her readers is so romantically heartwarming. As an example, she describes a gorgeous sceen where the young folks in the community gather at the frozen pond to go ice skating. She describes how each one brings their lanterns and place them in the perimeter of the pond to illuminate it. While at the pond a very, almost unprecedented scene takes place between Seth and Henry. I won't spoil it for you, you need to read it and enjoy it for yourself.

Another scene Samantha depicts takes place one evening as Lizzie is walking home, the snow is falling, everything is so quiet, all you could hear is the snow falling, then she hears an owl, she looks up to see it, his yellow eyes shine at her and he tilts his head as if to say hi Lizzie. Samantha does a marvelous job in describing this scene.

The gift Seth gave Lizzie, through her niece Abby, is the quintessential gift of oneself.

The second book in this series delivers the same solid values and examples of faith-based living the author introduced in the first story. The story is engaging for all readers with a special emphasis on youth coming of age and those fearing marriage and family has passed them by. The ups and downs experienced by the characters in the book are common to everyday life seasoned with honesty, faith, confession, commitment and achievement. Hope and opportunities are available to everyone and especially enjoyed when realized through employment of true, moral standards.

It is uplifting and encouraging to be reminded of life lived more simply with a focus on God, spirituality and sincerity. As parents we benefit from stories like this and our young readers also benefit as the story reinforces the message we strive to share with them.

I can hardly wait to start the next book in the series!

From the first chapter of book one I was hooked. I love the characters and the emotions they display. Samantha Bayarr makes the characters so relatable. They struggle. Some don't get along. Some are impatient and rude while others are infinitely patient and kind, & of course, everything in between. There are those whose struggles are open or obvious and those who are judged for struggles that are hidden or kept within their hearts. I had such a hard time putting these books down. I admit I am a Hallmark Movie kind of person. I like to keep things out-of-the-gutter & Ms Bayarr can REALLY pour on the romance and "steam" all while keeping it "clean" as they say. I appreciate that, but as an adult also like a good romance!!

Was delighted to read this 2nd book of Samantha Baayer. I really found it a lovely book - kept me busy thinking what could be happening next to this lovely family. The way it is written makes you not want to put this book down... you just wish to continue reading it until the end...

Once I finished this book, I ordered the next in the sequel - just got to keep finding out what can happen next in the community and with this family.

Many thanks to the Author for making my relaxing time enjoyable. A VERY recommended book.

I chose this book because I'm currently reading the series. They are a nice change from the cursing and explicit sex that is in most everything you pick up today. Being a bedtime reader, it is another peaceful story to read then. In my opinion, these stories are great romance novels for teenage girls to read, providing you can find a teenage girl that hasn't been jaded by today's society.

Every bit as good as the first book of this series - "Jacob's Daughter". I enjoy being able to follow the extended family from the first book as well as the introduction to grown siblings in this story. I always have a difficult time finishing books, similar to the loss of a good friend!

Thanks for another great read...

I really enjoy the simpler times found in this book and the real life struggles people find themselves in. God is always there as He always is and people try so hard to work things out sometimes without God's help. This shows us all how dependance on God is so important. I really found the book interesting, fun and I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

I have read every one of her books that I can get my hands on! Every one has been a pleasurable and exciting look at a simple way of life with the Amish people. Know this is fiction, but this is very realistic even down to the town of Elkhart, IN, and nearby places. Remember this author's name: Samantha Jillian Bayarr - it's worth using your memory!
