My first Merzbow experience, it was a good one, February 16, 2005
This review is from: Amlux (Audio CD)
I bought this record on a whim, having really no idea what it would sound like. On the night I bought it there was a really bad thunderstorm while I was driving in my truck, and this album, combined with the violence of the storm, blew my mind. This record is great for driving rainstorms and sitting in heavy traffic. It whites out the sound of the world around you and encapsulates you in a womb of sound, beautiful. And yes it is very very very noisy.

A Kid's Review

yes, i regularly listen to merzbow. and i listen to this album about once a month or so. sometimes more often. it goes great along with the Ikebana album, which is a collection of remixes of Merzbow by famous electronic and experimental musicians. if you scroll down, you'll read the review of "14-year-old Movie fan and KIDZ BOP hater." If you think he's an idiot, you'll probably like this album. By the way, my Canada includes Texas, "Scott." -VoodooArtist

A fairly accessible album for Merzbow., September 9, 2008
This review is from: Amlux (Audio CD)
A fairly accessible album by Merzbow standards. I believe this one is meant to continue the vague concept album thing he did with Frog, Door Open at 8 am, Merzbeat, etc; this time about Tokyo. Similar to a lot of other early laptop Merzbow, I think this one uses samples except I couldn't say where they're from except track 1 is obvious. I'm also uncertain as to whether Krokodil Texas Mix is really meant to mean anything or just be a bunch of random words. The best track in my opinion would be Looping Jane but the others aren't bad. A good entry-point to Merzbow's discography but I don't think this one's good enough to warrant a remix album over other Merz-albums. [Taken from own review on [...]]
