4.0 out of 5 stars feasting the beast...
Makes you want go out and hit something. You can see how far the band came from this album to it newer ones. Best track would have to be "Dead by Dawn". The album is very fast and hard pounding. Glen's voice was alot different, he still didnt have that harsh blood in your throat sound that he has now..but a must have for any metal head...

...if you are a die-hard Deicide Fan, you should own this, but only then. This is basically their two AMON-demos released, nothing bad but hell yeah the same as their "Self-Titled" Debut! Instead of the Song "Deicide" there is "Oblivious to Nothing" which is just the same as "Oblivious to Evil" from their Debut! Sure there are a...

Deicide is one of the best, if not the best American death metal band. When we listen to a Deicide album we expect to hear polished God-hating lyrics delivered with a veil of blast beats and over-distorted guitar. Amon: Feasting the Beast gives us a little listen to the side of Deicide that we are not that familiar with. For the first time we can hear Deicide as a raw unpolished noise making juggernaut. This is what Deicide sounded like before they got the expensive studio overhaul and whatever else. Scarificial Suicide is heard as it was never heard before but still stands out as the best song on this CD.
This album is recommended to all hardcore Deicide fans and also to all the fans of Death Metal who prefer their music as they prefer their meat: raw and bloody.

5.0 out of 5 stars Demonstration Of Pure Evil, August 19, 2003
This review is from: Amon - Feasting the Beast (Audio CD)
This is not the third studio album by Deicide but it's the third release by the band. That's because they had been getting thousands of letters from fans who wanted to know how to get a copy of the band's 2 only made and only existing demos that they put out before getting signed. The names of these demos were the Sacrificial demo and the Feasting The Beast demo and they were made when the band was under the name Amon. Those letters that the band was getting prompted this release. You can find out more informtion on this by reading the album's liner notes. Anyway, I brought this album only a day after buying the first album and Legion. I bought this along with Morbid Angel's Covenent all on cassette and despite the album not being another studio album, it's definitely a classic bar none. This album is comprised of the 2 demos which contains just about all the songs that would eventially be on the first album with the exeception of Mephistopheles and Deicide. Also, there is a song named Oblivious To Nothing which would be on the first album as Oblivious To Evil. Those are the only differences between the first album and this one.

Now it's time for review. The songs here are different and alike in some ways from the versions on the first album. The songs on the Sacrificial demo sound a little like those from the first album but they're a lot more heavier, more brutal and more raw and you will tell just by comparison. The songs on the Feasting The Beast demo are pretty heavy but they sound a lot more evil, almost black metal as in Mayhem and Bathory but many times better and more death metal. Some of my favorite versions here are Dead By Dawn, Sacrificial Suicide, Day Of Darkness and Oblivious To Nothing. So buy this album and take the ride into the days of early brutal death metal evil. You'll enjoy it.

If youre looking to purchase this Deicide, It makes no exeption of an other chaotic masterpiece album from Deicide. You will love it after a few listenning. If you are new to Deicide, Beware fools! This is hard to swallow. Technicaly lourd and Genius. For people that know where they go, what theyre talking about and rules. I know Where I put my foot when I walk and If you don't like this album, get away from me. Its a must have. I don't need to talk more. Devoring this album will make you more intelligent. PERIOD.

4.0 out of 5 stars This is the album that made me love death metal., June 11, 1999

If the recording itself wasn't so cheaply done, this would be their best album. If you love death metal you probably already own this album. If you are new to this genre buy this album.

4.0 out of 5 stars dead by dawn amon version!, February 21, 2011

i really would like to see the original amon version of dead by dawn instituted
onto deicide debut instead of the re-recorded and only because it is meatier,
wilder, and more robust in its headbanger quality then the cold-hearted all-speed,
CRANK re-recording. i have a home made cd-r and this is exactly what i have done
to it(take the new one off and replace it with the original which makes the album flow better).

5.0 out of 5 stars The beast unleashed, July 10, 2007
By
This review is from: Amon - Feasting the Beast (Audio CD)
Brilliant death/black metal like only Deicide can make. These demos are perhaps the best demos in history of this style. The songs are fast, unmercyfully dark and blasphemous. If you don't like Deicide, don't listen to this band, they're not for you, never were. All you christians and other cowards lurking from behind the corner, writing negative, idiotic, senseless reviews only fuels this band while you drown in your hypocrisy.

4.0 out of 5 stars The true roots of Deicide., June 9, 2005
By
This review is from: Amon - Feasting the Beast (Audio CD)
This is a killer disc. It contains all music from their debut album "Deicide" and though these versions are all earlier demos recorded before that debut album, the first six songs on this album are all VERY good quality demos, and in my opinion, are a little better than on the finished album. The next four tracks are really early demos that were recorded in the garage just weeks after the formation of the band. The quality is as bad as one could expect, but like the band says in the liner notes, it is a cool thing to listen to and see where the band came from.

The liner notes in the cover are pretty cool as well. They give the listener a brief timeline of the band from the initial formation of the band Amon, to the recording of the first album from the band we now know as Deicide.

In the end what you have is something that you can't find from most bands. This is a must for any Deicide fan. As for the casual listner, the first six songs are as good, if not better than the songs on the first Deicide album. It's definately worth the ten bucks or whatever you'll pay for it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Demo's !, August 21, 2004
This review is from: Amon - Feasting the Beast (Audio CD)
Great album these demos are much much better than the re-recorded versions on their disapointing LP.The best track is definetly 'Sacrificial Suicide' and is also one the major gun songs in metal history. Not a must buy but if you find it get it because i do believe its going out of print.
