Structured tastefully with an appealing overture of ranges Sound mix is a challenge to comment the download received on the visit on this selection may not been of a sparkle, however, I was able to listen through and hear. Your own sound, your own path, of course, "Character" of that of Pete, what do you expect you both are Townshends
To Simon: If you are ever in need of a Bass Player, you just have met one. Honor to assist! HIWATT

Talk about "Sweet Sounds",

Being a Simon Townshend fan from the 80s (when everything was on vinyl) I was happy to find him out there again, and with another talented Townshend (his son Ben) to back him up. This album is fresh, and has some really raw sounds for todays listeners. The must hear song on this album is The Way It Is. It gives a new meaning to that old (80s for you thirty somethings) Simon Townshend album title "Sweet Sounds".

A Must Buy for anyone who loves True Rock and Roll!,

I have been a Simon Townshend fan since his first album in the 1980's. Simon has a wonderful voice than can span a large range. The songs on "Among Us" are extremely well written. The listeners will soon find themselves singing along to the songs such as "The Way It Is" and "When She Sleeps"!

Excellent and original as a musician in his own right, Simon Townshend has a sound all his own. Despite his being the younger brother of Pete, I actually find Simon's music to be more reminiscent of the Beatles and in some ways superior to his brother's (just as melodic and certainly more conventional). His voice works equally well on the rockers as on the softer love songs. Though there's not a bad track on the album, standouts include the rocking, Squeeze-like opening track, "When She Sleeps," the lovely and acoustically pared-down "The Way It Is," the nearly Revolver-ish "Save Me from Me," and the jazzy "No More Never," which I find particularly lovely with its almost Mediterranean rhythm. And not to overdo the Beatles comparison, "So Sleep" reminds me of a McCartney composition.
The mark of a good album, "Among Us" felt familiar to me after only one listen and I often wake up unexpectedly with a song or two in my head! A nice work, all the tracks are on the longish side (many approach 4 minutes). Interesting side notes: son Ben appears on percussion, other brother Paul co-mixed the album with Simon, and from what I surmise, the album was recorded and mixed at the Townshend childhood home! This is a lovely record with a nice feel to it. I highly recommended it for a good all 'round rock and roll listen with some soft acoustics too.

People just keep putting this guy over because he's Pete's brother. Please...the music here is nothing special...not fresh at all.
