The angelical charisma, the natural sympathy and the fresh spontaneity that emanated from this well gifted singer, made of her an unforgettable icon of the popular tradition.

Her first steps in the Cinema and some well known hits such "Amor en el aire" in 1967 , allowed her to be widely known in that young generation in which a very young singer named Julio Iglesias, Raphael in Spain and Sandro, Palito Ortega and Leonardo Favio from Argentina worked out as a splendid boomerang. Those were times of Go-go and Ye-ye generations, where the raising soul, and the new sounds of the Rock literally filled the musical stages.

Her successful meeting with Juan Gabriel immortalized her, due two continents were reunited again for the eternal Mexican genre best known as "Rancheras". Under the sublime inspiration of this young composer, Durcal expanded her presence all around the world, revitalizing and renewing a missed musical tendency leaded mostly by male figures (as Javier Solis, Tony Aguilar or Pedro Infante).

I had the enormous chance to meet her in "Tamanaco Hotel" in 1985 when accidentally I was dinning and requested her an autograph. Her sympathy and singleness had no parallel.

I regret deeply her departure from this world; but she will be always remembered every time you listen "Amor eterno" , possibly her most emblematic song.

Farewell, Rocio.

An awesome voice that seemingly got better with age. Durcal was the definition of awe! She passed away in her home land of Spain but left a legacy to be cherished by lovers of true vocal talent. This CD has extra bonus videos but there's a more expansive DVD that was simultaneously released. Get these gems!

Una mujer fina en toda la extension de la palabra que nos hacia vibrar con la elegante interpretacion de la musica ranchera que siempre la caracterizó. En esta recopilacion se encuentran solo 16 de sus mejores exitos y canciones. Estas no son solo simples canciones sino recuerdos que todos tenemos de alguna o distintas epocas de nuestras vidas. El tributo a esta exceptional mujer es su propia voz, voz que siempre va a hondear en nuestras mentes y nuestros corazones. Adiós Rocío, dama y señora de la canción mexicana.

Se ha ido la Gran Diva Ranchera, Rocio Durcal y, Que mejor manera de recordarla cuando derrochaba talento y simpatia en partes iguales?. Este album recoge los grandes exitos de su carrera desde los 80 hasta nuestros dias, con su voz potente siempre llena de presencia, juventud y vida. Asi es como hay que recordarla, en plenitud de accion. No en una ida sin adioses, ni despedidas, ni publicidad. Ni pensando que de su presencia fisica, quedan "Solo cenizas".

"Ayer Murio" y solo deseo que ella tenga un buen viaje hacia otro nivel, en la Eternidad donde quiera el Creador que su voz resuene "Para Toda La Vida"...Amen.

Hoy día el mundo de la música se viste de luto porque ha perdido una gran señora de la canción. Roció era de esa persona que hoy en día son muy escasas. Era de esa persona que su belleza interior sobresalía en todo lo que hacia. Sus canciones era como su nombre un roció de bonita palabras para nuestra vida. Le canto al amor, desamor, tristeza e alegrías. Pero siempre sobresalía que cantaba sus canciones con mucho corazón y sentimientos. Aunque hoy no esta aquí, nos as dejado un tesoro eterno que gracia a la tecnología de hoy podremos disfrutar eternamente de el, como tu canción amor eterno.

Rocío Durcal puts her soul into Mexican music. She gives personality to each and every song, and her rendition of Amor Eterno is second to none. Her Spanish pronunciation of the z's or c's doesn't take anything away from the Mexicanity of the music.

Early 1970's heard an angelic voice not knowing whot it was, found out it was Rocio, Just heard of the loss and am deeply saddened , our hearts are with her and her loved ones. Greatest love song ever "amor eterno", is know played for her in her honor!!

Overall, it's a pretty good collection of Rocio's work and most of her famous and loved hits. However, I can't believe classics like "Costumbres", "Frente a Frente", "Sombras...Nada Mas!" are not included. I feel like it's done on purpose to force her fans to purchase these tracks seperately. This CD is good overall. Not perfect, as it falls short as an ultimate collection of Rocio's greatest work.

Rocio's unique voice, which is both strong and vulnerable given her excellent range, delivers on every song. The title song, "Amor Eterno" which was so beautifully written by Juan Gabriel would not be the same without Rocio's signature sound. She makes you want to cry. Love it!Amor Eterno: Los Exitos

It would be hard to imagine a more beautiful, emotive voice in all of popular music. Ms. Durcal is one of the few singers who can make a song rather than the other way around. The Midas of music, her passing is a tragic loss to music lovers everywhere. It's difficult to listen to Amor Eterno - a beautiful song in itself - sung by Ms. Durcal with that melisma in its emotionally explosive phrases, without choking up or being trasported to some rarefied atmosphere. She certainly added measures of richness and grace to my listening experiences and will be missed.
