I have the white version of this unit and it works quite well. I used it before I got hearing aids and recommend it. The battery life is good and it's sensitive and adjustable. I assuming the black model is the same except for the color.

I was confused when I bought this item. I was looking for an equalizer for the output of my Tape deck. This unit is not for that application-my mistake
