This teapot is a terrific value. But, be forewarned that the "six cups" referred to here is six TEACUPS (about 36 oz.), not six measuring cups. The plum color is rather muted, and appears almost brown except in daylight. The lid has a vent. One surprise was the excessive packaging (15 inch cubed box with a lot of paper and bubble plastic), which seemed like a waste of resources.

I Love this larger pot; lovely made teapot in a muted purple color that works well with many different colors of mugs and teacups and it keeps the tea nice and hot. Lovely and. a great aquisition that is already being used daily.
By the way it claims 6 teacups but I use a mid-size mug and get about 4 and one half.

A very nice quality teapot, especially at this price. I love the rustic look, and how the lid is vented and has a little catch so it doesn't fall off when pouring. It's the perfect size for brewing in my microwave, too. At first I was looking for a pot with a brewing basket, but then realized all I need to do is pour the tea through a little strainer.

This is exactly what I was looking for. Design, size, color, all on target.

A couple of observations on design ....

The lid has a generously proportioned bump along the inside edge to keep the lid from sliding off the pot when pouring the last contents out of the pot. Designers who omit this feature have never used a tea pot.

Here's something I don't especially like: inside the pot where the contents depart the tea pot proper to enter the neck, the exit is NOT a single hole. Instead this exit is composed of seven small holes (about 1/4 inch in diameter) -- six in a circle with one more in the center of the circle. The only reason I can imagine for this design is the notion that these small holes would serve as a sort of coarse sieve, to strain out tea leaves which are floating freely in the liquid inside the pot. Is this how people are making tea for themselves? Do they really dump loose tea leaves in a pot and add hot water? I thought tea bags and infusers had been the rage for many decades now!

The result of this design, of course, is to make it difficult to clean out the neck of the tea pot, at least in the way I've done in the past -- i.e. to roll up a paper towel into a long, thin, and flexible straw, then to insert this into the neck, down into the cavity of the pot, and to pull it back and forth to dislodge deposits inside the neck of the teapot. Oh well. I guess I'll havae to purchase some pipe cleaners now.

For the picky, here's a couple of observations ...

For most folks, the color of the "plum" edition will be rich chocolate brown, with an almost subliminal note of blue. I can't help but wonder if it were some marketing factotum who insisted that this pot be sold as "plum" colored.

This is a good looking, solid little teapot. Appears well made, doesn't drip when you pour. Not as big as I thought it would be but still big enough for everyday use. Holds 3 decent sized mugs of tea. You might need a bigger one if you are entertaining.

This is the perfect all-purpose teapot. If you fill it up, it will give you about 4-5 coffee size cups of tea. Even after heating it for a couple of minutes in the microwave, the handle is cool enough to touch and the pot as a whole is very sturdy. I wash it in the dishwasher and so far it has held up extremely well. Great purchase!

I love my tea pot and was thrilled at the rate of speed with which it was shipped. However, the knob on top of the lid had broken during transit. Rather than return it and go through all that hassle I just super glued it back on and it has been perfect since!
