5.0 out of 5 stars Well I Liked Just the Way it Was
I invited a the change when Alex became bad it added some spice and suspence it put Holly in a perdictament that was very hard to get of. Besides that's what Alex gets for thinking he is god. Anyways, Holly was a really great character i understood what she was going through maybe not so completely but you know what i mean. I would love to read more books written by...

3.0 out of 5 stars I was totally surprised, a little disapointed
When I read book one ( the dream ) I almost felt a connection with Holly and Alex, I was happy they could finally be happy! But then book two and three bring out this TERRIBLE side in Alex, an evil blood thirsty side. I was so sad because Alex was awesome, he had power, controll, good looks, his girl, all in the palm of his hand. Then he turned bad. I like all three books...

Anyways, Holly was a really great character i understood what she was going through maybe not so completely but you know what i mean. I would love to read more books written by Zeo in the future because the Year of the Cat series is one of my most favorite to read over and over. I would highly recommand this book to anyone even if these other people think it is so bad, i guess it just depends what you like. Holly really starts to break free from her comfortable zone find who her friends really are.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best books ever, March 11, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: The Amulet (Year of the Cat, No. 3) (Paperback)
These books were such an awsome series, but I read book 3 first and knew that Alex was cruel and selfish so it kinda ruined the first 2 books. Don't let me make the books sound bad though, these are the only books I've ever read 20,000 times! If you havn't read them you most certainly need to!

5.0 out of 5 stars A parable about abusive realationships, June 1, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Amulet (Year of the Cat, No. 3) (Paperback)
I love this book, the way it presents abusive realationships is inspiring. Anyone who's looked at the research about abusive realationships knows that in the beginng the abuser always seems loving and afectionate, but slowly shows their true colors. For those who thought that Alex's charecter was turned sudenly into a villian, I suggest looking at the previous books. The evidence is there you just need to look.

5.0 out of 5 stars I don't think it stank , like the other readers did., May 3, 1998

This review is from: The Amulet (Year of the Cat, No. 3) (Paperback)
Did you dig deep into your memory before writing your own reports Amulet readers? If any of you have read The Hunt you will remember this bit : "She hasn't got any heart at all."Alex interupted their conversation with a flourish. "Laila's as heartless at they come."It was like going to the lost and found to pick something up.Something you hadn't missed very much but since it was yours you might as well claim it.

See?It is just all those little hints that show he didn't really care that much for Holly. Not as much as he let on anyway. So which person said that Daniel's lost touch with her characters? He or she was talking a load of @$#!^&^!.No offense , but whoever said that is not very intelligent and whoever said that they hoped that Holly and Jason would get axed said that only because the had a rather large fictious crush on a fictious person. Please don't think I wrote this report just to critisise people and thair ways of thinking because I didn't.I wrote it to make a point and because I accept different people and their different ways of thinking , I trust no-one is going to show any hostility.

This report was written by Mischief.

5.0 out of 5 stars what a book, May 10, 2002
By
This review is from: The Amulet (Year of the Cat, No. 3) (Paperback)
From the moment I read the back cover I read this book I knew it was good. This book is just GREAT! I'm addicted to it. It's not really some sappy love story; its a lot more than that. This book opened my obsession with Bast. I love the story of her and her 2nd life as a panther and all the trouble. I loved reading who she ended up with. I read the whole book (I have them all in one) in one weekend. This book is addictive.

1.0 out of 5 stars It's the cat's meow!! Not., June 29, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: The Amulet (Year of the Cat, No. 3) (Paperback)
Holly is a female fatale in the town of Los Gatos, which is stalked by a shapeshifting cult of humans who magically transform into panthers. Holly is one of them, and the last to join their secret society, completing it. Simple, right?? Not so. Alex, the head of the club, is her boyfriend. His twin sister is a snobbette, to everyone including Holly. And Holly's friend Jason is a HUMAN, an outsider, and not to mention her not-so-secret admirer. At the end, Holly and Jason destroy the cult, killing Alex (who suddenly turns into the bad guy in the second book, and was a sweetie in the first) and everyone else except Holly, who lives because of Don Juan's (aka Jason's) love, and everyones goes home and parties. Alex's sudden change from True Love to Evil Villain is alarming, and obviously done so the series could continue. Why the sudden switch?? And why Alex? It ruins the trilogy entirely. Not to mention the two times Holly chose Jason over Alex, even though she knew they both loved her and she had committed herself to Alex a LONG time before (several centuries, in fact). It's totally pointless and unfair. The second and third books have basically the same theme and plot, but just different situations and descriptions. Dull, dull, DULL!! But not as horrible as some others I've read, which puts it above 1

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your time or your money., August 16, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: The Amulet (Year of the Cat, No. 3) (Paperback)
This series started out good, but Daniels completely lost touch with the characters, especially Alex..... what the hell happened to him?? He suddenly became this evil, blood thirsty villian. He was fine in the first one, but then he became moody and abusive in books two and three. The ending was predictable, and frankly I was hoping Holly and Jason would get axed. But of course, it didn't happen.....
