5.0 out of 5 stars Get your schedule on track
I have used the Amy Knapp Family Organizers for three years now and would be lost without them. 3.0 out of 5 stars good for menu planners... otherwise not so great
OK, I confess, I don't plan my menus for the week ahead. And I write my shopping list on a whiteboard on the refrigerator and copy it onto sheets from one of those magnetic notepads when I go to the store. So I just didn't use two of the major features of this calendar. And I found the horizontal daily planning spaces inconvenient for both appointments and notes...

OK, I confess, I don't plan my menus for the week ahead. And I write my shopping list on a whiteboard on the refrigerator and copy it onto sheets from one of those magnetic notepads when I go to the store. So I just didn't use two of the major features of this calendar. And I found the horizontal daily planning spaces inconvenient for both appointments and notes.

I did appreciate that there was as much space for Saturday and Sunday as for weekdays. And apparently, the monthly pages in this year's edition are at the beginning of each month's section of weekly pages, making them much easier to use than when they're grouped at the back. But I'm still looking for the perfect family engagement calendar--for me, this isn't it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Get super organized for 2005!, August 19, 2004
This review is from: Amy Knapp's Family Organizer, 2006-2007 (Spiral-bound)
Amy Knapp's Family Organizer made life so much easier last year that naturally I picked up the 2005 version.

The calender is spiral bound approximately 8" and 1/2" by 6 ". The first page includes space for personal information, school and emergency numbers. There is a 2 page section with the months at glance.

The bulk of the book includes day by day pages for each month to record notes and "to do's". Next to each is an easy tear page where you can write menus and a grocery list. There is also a month at a glance right before each month's day to day pages. (This is different from the 2004 calender which had all of the months at a glance at the end of the book). The 2005 edition starts with July 2004 and ends in December 2005.

The organizer also includes stickers to indicate events like birthdays, or no school days and there are a number of pages at the back to jot down phone numbers.

This years calender is printed in a duller green than last year. (I preferred the crispness of last years green). It also would be great if it had tabs for the different months.

Overall though, the book is fantastic. So simple but includes so much of what you need to stay organized without feeling overwhelmed with spaces for other things.

I generally plan menus a week in advance noting the meals on the menu section of the planner. I then write in grocery items I will need, to prepare those meals on the grocery list on the opposite side. Tear it out, and off to the store with my list..saves me time and money as I don't buy what I don't need and I have my menu planned for the week, PLUS my family eats healthier meals as they are planned in advance (no trips for fast food because mom doesn't know what to make).

I also like to write in my fitness goals in the notes pages at the back of the book. Each day,in the month at a glance section, I record my physical activity ie walked 3 miles, played tennis etc. Its great to look at each month and see what I have accomplished.

The day by day section tracks my appointments and other activities.

A super calender to keep you and your family organized!

Lee Mellott

I've been searching for the perfect planner and organizer for years and picked up the 2004 Amy Knapp Family Organizer in January. This planner is perfect for moms or anyone who needs to keep track of kids, birthdays, groceries, etc.

The features that I really like about this planner are:

1. The tear-away grocery list with place for weekly menu planning
2. The special places for 'Children's play friends' and babysitter phone numbers
3. The Baby sitter info page which includes a "Let Us Introduce our Children" section. Here you can input each child's age, bedtime, likes/dilikes, favorite things, and any allergies or medical needs. The Baby sitter page even has a spot for you to put a post-it notepad.
4. The stickers to mark no school days, doctor and dentist appointments, etc.

I'll definitely be purchasing the 2005 edition!

3.0 out of 5 stars Still not what I'm looking for, August 7, 2005
This review is from: Amy Knapp's Family Organizer, 2006-2007 (Spiral-bound)
I really like a lot of the concepts in this organizer:
1 daily and monthly calanders
2 lots of space on the weekend days as well as weekdays
3 room in the back for internet information, babysitters, kids organizations, etc.

I did not like:
1 there's no place to keep a pen (who can ever find one in a hurry when you need one?)
2 I like a planner that closes so stuff doesn't fall out

3 I did as she suggested and put a plastic envelope in the back for loose things like coupons, but then it made the pages lumpy and hard to write on, on the right side.

I like the concept, and maybe a more organized person would love it as is, but I need a planner because I'm not organized, and this one needs a little tweaking for my needs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome and looking forward to next year, September 16, 2005
This review is from: Amy Knapp's Family Organizer, 2006-2007 (Spiral-bound)
I loved this organizer. I think it is great. The stickers at the back are the best, dentist, doctor, school out, etc. I even put half of a stack of post-it notes in the back for when I need to use them. My only suggestion, which I have sent to Mrs. Knapp already, was to add a budget page for each month so I can keep up with my personal budget - not the main family budget - but the kids lunch money, extra curricular activities, and birthday or holiday budget. I even use this along with my books by Emilie Barnes to keep up with my house work. This organizer is wonderful.
