Amzer Bicycle Handlebar Mount for iPhone 1G, 3G, and 3GS

I strongly recommend against purchasing or using this product.

My iPhone was destroyed yesterday when the product's case--which was holding my iPhone--suddenly detached from its handlebar mount and crashed into the pavement. As a result, my phone's touchscreen was destroyed, the bezel was badly scraped, and I paid Apple $199 + tax for a replacement and another $29 + tax for overnight shipping. Later, I carefully inspected the Amzer product, and determined that the problem appears to be an inadequately designed connection between the device's case and the handlebar mount. The product was a recent purchase (March 9, 2010), and I'd ridden only about 100 miles with it before it failed.

ok people this mount is by far the best quality mount I have seen for the IPHONE. Please understand this is not a 4x4 ruged military aplication mount :| of course some of you want to take thru a mine field? any ways it worked great right off the bat on the first day. I logged 12 miles with my new application callen Motion X GPS. also if your battery is dying you can buy one of those cube looking battery chargers that will fit on the bottom. Problem is what if it falls? Make sure the batter recharger has 2 outside teeth so it can hold on for recharging. Had alot of fun biking today thanks for the mount!

The case mounted well on my bike and was easily adjusted; however, after a month's use the hinge (pin) holding the case disappeared somewhere on a ride; then the gasket which ensures the waterproof seal was lost.

So I wouldn't do this purchase again.


Good concept, but the execution lacks.

Do not buy this product. Worse than useless. The iPhone holder simply slips onto prongs on the handlebar mount and is held on by nothing more than gravity and minimal friction. Simply picking up the bike caused the iPhone to pop loose. If used while riding, your iPhone would bounce out at the first bump.

I use this on my road bike and go over some nasty bumps in my daily 20-mile ride. My iPhone has never popped out. It's easy to adjust to horizontal or vertical viewing and doesn't seem to leave any marks on the phone. It's a tight fit, so if you have a "skin" on your phone, it won't fit. Also, the mount comes with a couple of rubber sleeves, which I think are for the top "gripper;" there are no instructions, but I found that by sliding one of these sleeves onto the "gripper," it seemed to be a more secure fit. They may also be included so the iPhone doesn't scratch from being regularly inserted and removed.

I liked this mount because it was good quality and reasonably priced.Certainly does the job well for me, firmly holding my cherished iPhone in place - mind you, I'm more a casual than a 'serious' off-roader.
Aesthetically, and practically, I would have preferred a stem-mounted unit, but there doesn't seem to be too many of those around at the moment.

This product was superior to others I looked at, as well as other brands owned by friends. It is functional and seems to be made of a better grade of materials.

Also less expensive! Bonus!

Product holds the phone perfectly and securely and was simple to put on the bike

Had this mount for about 4 months, which was relatively new. The whole purpose of a mount is to keep my phone in place, however, that wasn't the case in my situation. I had several experience with my phone dropping while i was riding, especially on a bumpy road. Two days before writing this review, I was out for a ride on NYC busy traffic and to my disappointment, at my arrival after 2 hours ride discovered that my phone had dropped within 3 miles radius streets of manhattan. Hugely disappointed in this product because there were so many good reviews written about it. Seriously rubber bans does a better job than the mount.

I have this mount on my cross-bike and have ridden over curbs & cobble-stones and through the occasional pot hole, and it has held my iPhone 3G firmly in place. It was easy to mount and is easy to adjust. A great product.
