Amzer Silicone Skin Jelly Case for HTC EVO 4G - Black

I bought this product directly from Amzer and received it this week. Prior to this case I had a Seidio Innocase on my EVO. The Seidio is a semi-hard case that comes in two pieces and slides onto the EVO. I like this Amzer silicon case much better than the Seidio and the silicon case is now the one I keep on my phone all the time. The Seidio case was to creaky and had enough play in the case to be annoying. Also it seemed to trap dirt/dust under the edges easier than this silicon case.

The Amzer silicon case fits the EVO well and the LED notification light is fully visible. With the Seidio part of my notification light was covered by the case. All ports/buttons are easily accessible with the Amzer case. The case has a nice texture to it and feels secure in my hand. There is also a pattern in the cast, look at the pictures of the back to see what I'm talking about, and there are small raised areas on the corners. I actually like this as it helps me hold the phone when I am using it in a horizontal position.

Overall this is a really nice silicone case for the EVO. I am very happy with it and at $9.95 I feel it is a very fair price. It fits well for a silicon case and gives me grip when holding my EVO. Recommended.

I bought two of these cases. They were great at first, but after about a month, both of them have stretched out to the point that they no longer fit on the phone. Neither case was subjected to the inside of a hot car or any similar harsh conditions, either. I think all the five star ratings for this case came from people who haven't had them very long. I've ordered a different case to replace this one.

When I first purchased the Evo 4g, I knew two things straight-away:

1) The phone feels relatively fragile, hence the need for a case, and
2) The cases that the Sprint store sells are overpriced crap.

After reading some online reviews from the early adopters of the phone and various cases, I decided that the case that I wanted was the Seidio Innocase Active Case for HTC EVO 4G - Limited Edition because it appeared to offer the most protection for my shiny new toy.

Unfortunately, at the time of my purchase, the Innocase was on back-order for almost a month. I bought this Amzer case as a holdover (i.e. it was in stock and Prime-eligible) to protect my phone until my "real" case arrived.

Immediately upon receiving this case I put it on my phone. The fit and finish are pretty good for a sub-$10 case. The case in no way interferes with the stand built into the back of the phone, which I was a little concerned with. The case fits pretty snugly on the phone and offers protection to both the screen and the camera lens since it extends slightly beyond both. I do wish that the fit was a little tighter (dust seems to find a way in behind the case), but I can't argue with the protection.

I know the protection works because this weekend I dropped my phone from a decent height (around 5 feet) onto a tile floor. The phone fell straight down on to the screen with a muffled thud. I picked it up and wiped the screen off on my shirt, and noticed that there were no cracks in the screen. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that I hadn't even scratched the screen.

Bottom line is this -- do I think that this case is perfect? The dust issue bothers me so I can't say yes. Do I think that this case offers the protection advertised and is worth every cent? Absolutely. Whether you are purchasing the case for full time use or (like me) are purchasing it as a holdover until another arrives, I do not think you'll regret it. Who knows -- I may even continue using this case once the Innocase arrives!

Just got my Amzer case and I have to say that i really like it. It fits really well and the phone doesnt jostle around in the the case. It looks good and the design is nice. The rubber/textured design on the side makes for good grip. One HUGE PLUS is that the case helps keep the camera lens off of the surface the phone sits on, so no worrying about scratching the lens!!! Very nice!

One concern that may arise in the future is that the power button and volume rocker are not cutouts but have a mimicking rubber design so you know where they are. They are fairly easy to use and i have not had a problem with them. My concern is that with use over time the rubber buttons may wear away to the point you cant feel whether you are over the power and rocker buttons or not.

Over all this is a great product for the price, like everything else, time will tell. I would definitely recommend it!

The case fit nice and tight when I first purchased it, however not more then a month later, the case is stretched out about .25 inch, making the case worthless.

I wanted to love this case. Based on the reviews, I thought it was just what I was looking for. Unfortunately, as one other reviewer mentioned, the case stretched to the point where I was uncomfortable using it - in about a month's time. For such an expensive phone it would be a shame for it to fall out when it was supposed to be protected by the case. I wrote Amzer and explained my concern to them and they did respond with a non-answer. I thought that perhaps they misunderstood, so I wrote them again and asked for an exchange for another case in their line of equal or lesser value that might be more secure. Their reply (literally 3 weeks later, after I'd bought another case and forgotten all about it) was another non-reply. I wrote them back and told them that by then I'd solved my problem with a competitor's product (which is STILL holding up quite well, I might add) and thanks for nothing. This may be the only negative review I've ever written for a product, as I normally just move on and let things be. However, if you're like me you're buying this case for security of your device (surely there are nicer looking products out there!) and I don't feel the Amzer case will serve you well.

Can't imagine why you'd spend more on a case. With Amazon Prime it's the cheapest case I've found and the fit is perfect. I was worried about how hard the power button might be to press, but I swear it's even easier with the case than without. Best phone ever, best case ever!

I'll be frank--the only real reason i bough this was to modify it to fit my 3500mAh Seidio battery.
it worked/works.
and for the price--it's a no brainer.

the texture of it makes it great to have in the car--as it won't slide from side to side, and its elastic nature is really good at holding shape despite any instances in which you might leave it in direct sunlight. some cheaper cases i've purchased are really weak when it comes to sunlight for some stupid reason.
it wraps around the phone really well, adding a little bit of a lip to the front of the phone so you can lay it face down and not really worry about any scratches. the power button is actually really easily accessible with this--but the volume buttons kind of become hard to find. perhaps it was from my modification--so i can't say for sure. all of the ports are adequately open and no problem accessing for anything.

if you have the 3500 battery--get this
to make it fit= use a knife to cut a line directly from the dual flash to the hinge of the kickstand & a line directly from the speaker down to the bottom of the kickstand.
it retains its shape remarkably well and doesn't stretch-out at all. i cut mine out in about 3 minutes and couldn't be happier with the result. the tech @ the Sprint store even asked if i bought the case specially made for it--then when i told her what i did, she remarked she wouldn't even had noticed if i hadn't pointed it out to her.
also, if you feel more comfortable, use the outline of a credit card/drivers license to achieve more straight of a line.

for the price--this is awesome. get it.

Borders around screen are "loose", difficult in and out of a pocket, not a good grip feel

Me and my friend both purchased HTC EVOs around the same time so we decided to do some research on cases for the phone. Eventually we came down to two choices, the Seidio Innocase Active Case for HTC EVO 4G - Limited Edition because it look impressive and the reviews were great, and this case because it was cheap and looked like it was well built. Both came in around the same time and we compared them side by side, and to be honest this case is WAY better than the Seidio one. Even at more than half the price this AMZER case trumps the Seidio in flexibility, quality of build, overall feel, button accessibility, looks, well.. everything! Now my friend is returning his Seidio so he can get this case! When we first got the cases, the AMZER came in a plain looking package, while his came in some fancy shmancy packaging. I was beginning to think I had made a mistake, but once we had taken them out of the packaging it was pretty clear who had the winner.

It isn't that the Seidio is a bad case, its just the protection just isn't the same. We tried drop tests on both of them and his sounded like a loud "CRACK" which made me cringe every time we dropped it from about 12 inches, while this one made a soft thud and obviously absorbed the blow much. much better. The buttons with the Seidio were difficult and uncomfortable to push, while the AMZER was smart and made the case a little bit softer where the buttons are which made for pressing them just as easy as if there was no case at all. The Siedio has a much less flexible material compared to the AMZER and is not comfortable in the hand at all, the AMZER feels like it is conforming to the curves of your hand every time you hold it and actually makes it much easier to hold thanks to the anti-slip grip that the Siedio does not have. Overall the AMZER trumps the Seidio in almost everything. The Seidio, however, is a winner when it comes to repelling dust. The AMZER does pick up a light amount of dirt/dust that is not very hard to remove but still can be an eyesore if not maintained. The Seidio seems to not pick up any dust.

If I were to pick between the two, I would save my money and go with the AMZER for sure.
