More About the Author
My name is Dallas Clayton. I write kids' books. When I was a kid I dreamt about traveling around the world meeting new people every day, having amazing experiences and sharing the stories from those experiences with other new people. That's pretty much what I do now. When I am not doing that, I am writing, drawing, having my mind blown by my nine-year-old child, or jumping into a large body of water. When I am not writing for children, I am writing for adults and the companies that adults run, drawing pictures for adults and reading things out loud to a crowd of strangers. I love strangers.

I just read this book online at the recommendation of a coworker (both this and the other book the author wrote are available to read in their entirety for free online). It is the most touching, sweet, beautiful kid's book I've ever read. As a dad in my 40s I felt inspired to revisit my dreams after reading it and I know it will--and I say this without a trace of hyperbole--greatly affect the life of my little boy in a wonderful way.
I've told my 4yo almost every night that we're going to work to make his dreams come true, that they can... this book shows him through wonderful illustration and narrative just what I've been saying.
Dallas, cudos to you for finding incredible success through this book and sharing it with your foundation (I watched the videos on his site and recommend them, too to see what's behind this book).

A book about dreams, "An Awesome Book!", rounds out my personal collection of the ten best and very special children's books of all time. The others are: Winnie the Pooh, Nobody Listens to Andrew, Hope for the Flowers, The Little Prince, Guess How Much I Love You, The Missing Piece, Curious George, Babar and Cat in the Hat.
Wonderful inspirational story and beautiful illustrations. Buy this book and you will be compelled, as have I, to buy copies for all your friends, brothers and sisters, sons and daughters, nephews and nieces.

It is so refreshing to have a very positive book that does not start off with negatives and end with happy resolution. It is simply about being happy and it is awesome. My 2 year old has been reading this book for about 6 months and its one of his favorites. Great great story!
