Two lovers separated by an evil curse.
A desperate quest through time.
A love that wants to beat all odds.
And all the while, deadly danger brews around a two-thousand-year-old secret society and the enemy that lives to decimate it.

"...‘Til the end of my life, I shall belong to you as your husband.”
That was the promise Adrian made to Emmaline. And then, he was gone forever...

It is 1807. Adrian Segrave, Viscount Bournemouthe, and Lady Emmaline Deramore are about to wed and British Society teems with excitement at this imminent love match. But Madeleine de Brandeville, a mysterious Frenchwoman, has her lustful and ambitious sights on the groom. When she sets her cruel plan in motion, she leaves devastation in her path.

Heartbroken, Emmaline embarks on an adventure she'd never imagined having. As the world changes and chaos brews, her fate becomes linked with the Valthreans, a group of immortals who must learn to face a deadly enemy that threatens their place in the human world. But all the while, there is one thing she wants more than any other -- to get back her man.

When she finally finds her prize, he does not have a single memory of her, and her worst nightmares are far from over.

Is this love meant to be, after all?

Editorial Reviews

From the Author

I happen to be a big fan of the Highlander series since it first came out. I simply loved Adrian Paul in his role of tortured hero fighting for justice and survival. Who can resist a character like that? :)

So one day, I started thinking that there are some amazing series out there in the paranormal/fantasy romance genre, but I couldn't think of a specific one featuring immortals that live under a legal and political system they formed over time. Immortals with their own style of government and their own code of ethics. Basically, a secret society of these special individuals that aims at furthering the interests of its people and the humans they live with. Of course, as with each government, there is opposition--some justified, and some not so much.

Another thought I had was: what if Man had someone--or something--powerful and magical to come to the rescue at certain crucial points in history? Some things could have happened differently--or turned out much worse. And what if Man's fate and future is determined by warring factions of these immortal beings? The germ of this idea started in my mind, and together with my interest in myth and adventure, the Valthreans were born.

The story and practices of the Valthreans constitute the backdrop of each book in the series, the glue that holds them together. Some pretty amazing characters make up the higher ranks of this unusual organization--sexy heroes and kickass, determined heroines--and my goal is to tell you their stories and happy endings :).

About the Author

Pink velvet and black lace. Light and darkness. A world of contrasts exists in Natalie's stories because every rose has its thorn. Her favourite stories to write are romances with a dark edge featuring brooding heroes, strong heroines, an intriguing mystery, and a good dash of fantasy.

Married, with one son, she now calls the beautiful island of Malta home after eleven good years in Atlanta, GA. As a professional editor and author, her days are always busy, but when she's not working--or muttering to herself about her book plots like a batty old maid--she enjoys spending time with family and friends (both online and offline), sipping on a good shiraz, reading, cooking and entertaining, watching a good movie, travelling, and ogling shoe store displays. Most of all, she loves to meet and communicate with other authors and readers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Poetic Imagery drives this fantasy/paranormal romance January 13, 2013

Review of An Eternity of Roses
The Valthreans #1
Natalie G. Owens
5 stars

Reading this book was truly a delight-and I use that word intentionally. A fast-paced, loving, lovable, romp through time and character and romance and horror, with characters who are so fully fleshed that I felt they were standing beside me, "An Eternity of Roses" is only the beginning-this is the first entry in a new series called "The Valthreans," about a race of immortals who commenced almost before recorded time.

Lady Emmaline and Viscount Adrian are so very deeply in love, and are soon to marry. It's 1807, a time when Society is all, and marriages are almost always arranged for convenience, politics, or matters of wealth. But these fortunate two are in love; until the villainess interferes. Madeleine put me in mind of the infamous Countess Elisabeth Bathory (yes, one of my favourite historical characters) in her depths of evil, the ambition of her evil, and her arcane murderous practices. She rules by fear, and she desires Adrian: nothing will stop her, or can she be stopped?

Natalie G. Owens writes prose as if she is writing poetry, truly. The imagery is superb, and almost every sentence contains a wonderful description that makes the reader want to pause to savour it. I can't wait to read the next in the series; in the meantime, "An Eternity of Roses" is a definite re-read.

The author provided me with an e-book copy in return for my provision of a fair and impartial review.

5.0 out of 5 stars A very pleasurable read. January 18, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I truly fell in love with An Eternity of Roses. The characters were well developed and the story streamlined.
Natalie G. Owens takes us on a fantastic journey of two lovers that last for about two centuries. Both Lady Emma and Viscount Adrian are made immortal due to the evil plans of Lady Madeleine. They are torn apart before they can marry by this evil enchantress's spells.
You have an age old feud of good versus evil that is thousands of years old.
You will enjoy the adventures each lover must take to concur evil and regain their chance of Happily Ever After. There are plenty of twists and turns, evil vs. good(with good winning).
Ms. Owen is a new author to me and I will definitely be buying the books in this series as she releases them.

I was given a free copy of this book by the author for an honest review.

4.0 out of 5 stars a gothic style paranormal romance June 23, 2013
By lily
Format:Paperback
For me this story was a paranormal suspense with a bit of horror and romance...I could describe this book as a "Gothic-like romance"(you can even imagine Gargoyles sitting on the roof of the houses)....soooo...there is a young, beautiful, and innocent heroine in this story. There is a very handsome and successful hero. There is, naturally, the evil sorceress who was truly evil and I found her character & actions rather unsettling as she tried to do the most unthinkable thing by using her powers to come between two lovers who were about to marry. ...I am not going to write more on this as I do not wish to spoil the story for you.
It is also written in a descriptive manner you can visualise the dark settings, clothes which brought up dread along with romance in me at times.... This was kind of refreshing for me as most writers are not as descriptive in their style of writing. It is clear that the writer enjoys classic style of writing which in my opinion complimented Natalie G. Owens' story.
For me this story was dark, dangerous and romantic. It was very complex for me (partly because of my rather limited English grammar knowledge, I think) so I found myself going back previous pages to recapture events. If you are into dark, paranormal. gothic style-like romance , I would recommend this book to you...make sure you have no flu, like I have, when you're reading this book...it kind of spoils the romantic feelings in you if you keep sniffling and taking ibrufen tablets...

Natalie Owens paints. And by that I mean she paints images when she writes. Reading this book is like being in a gallery with a knowledgeable curator showing you around. Sit back, relax, and enjoy as her characters go through 200 plus years of life, survive wars and endure.

Although I loved the first quarter of the book, I'll admit I grew impatient with the middle, which I'd have shorted by a few chapters, but that's probably because I'm an action-craving, hopeless romantic who couldn't wait for the main characters to be together again.

For me, the magic happened when Emma and Adrian were together. In fact, as the book came to its natural conclusion, I found myself devouring each and every word of its last quarter, having waited so long to find out exactly how and when they would have the happily-ever-after I was promised, and half-fearing that something awful would happen to them (again!) and I'd be cheated out of it.

Looking forward to Book 2 about the intriguing Max, who has already been painted as a man of action, and promises to deliver just that.

I am a huge fan of the author's Eternelles Series...eagerly waiting for the next book with much anticipation and excitement. In the interim, it was brought to my attention that An Eternity of Roses was not your normal "romance" novel. Admittedly, I have been hesitant to read this book because I am not a fan of the romance genre...no offense to anyone, it just isn't my thing. What a mistake that was! I loved this book! It's a vastly rich tale that travels through time with beauty and wonderment at every turn. A fantasy story of witchcraft and eternal life; of secret societies and evil cults; of magic potions and deadly poisons; and, most importantly, a love story that spans the seas of time. Oh and there is some hot, steamy "romance" thrown in there too!

An Eternity of Roses is truly a tale for fantasy and romance readers alike. With lavishly lush details that magnificently describe the time periods, it was so easy to get swept away by this epic tale. Mystery, intrigue, fantasy, adventure, and romance, this is story not to be missed.
