Book Description

Dr. Holly Green hasn't celebrated Christmas since age thirteen when her parents were killed in a car accident on Christmas Eve. An intense surgeon but a social wallflower at New Hampshire's Granite State Medical Center, Holly successfully dodges the hospital holiday party every year, except this year when she meets Dr. Noel Shepherd, sexy new surgeon on the block who's determined to end her absenteeism.

The polar opposite of Holly, Noel revels in the Christmas Spirit, sporting a penguin print necktie and a Santa sticker on his beeper.

From the moment Holly bumps into Noel in the operating room, she can't deny her attraction to him. Noel likewise lights up around Holly.

When their relationship heats up over the holiday season, Noel purchases an evergreen tree that he and Holly could decorate. But his surprise quickly sours when Holly refuses to have anything to do with the tree. Has Noel crossed the line, catapulting Holly into a Christmas she isn't ready to celebrate?

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Book November 9, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This was a nice romance to read. There were no sex scenes and no violence. It did get bogged down a bit in medical speak sometimes but never for very long. There was a short bit of religious talk but again not for very long. And a tiny bit of paranormal that seemed a bit random. The editing was good and the writer seemed experienced. I would recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Christmas Read! November 11, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I really enjoyed this story. The characters backgrounds are so well explained you feel you really know them.Holly has gone through a lot of loss and heartache in her life. She lost both of her parents on Christmas Eve when she just thirteen. She hasn't

celebrated Christmas since.Holly was known as a loner, never doing much but working as a surgeon and going straight home.

Then comes a new surgeon to her crew who she bumps into.Literally.She is dazed by his good looks and how sweet he is. Doesn't take long for Noel to take an interest in Dr.Holly Green. He's just as smitten as she is.They hit a bump in the road as most new couples do.But come Christmas Eve and an emergency that require them both to save the life of one Holly's students, things take a turn.

This whole story pulls together nicely and just flows. You can feel the emotions that the characters are feeling. You will laugh in parts as well feel the sorrow in the deeper scenes of this book. Just a well balanced great Christmas read.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVED it November 11, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I really loved this story. Set in a hospital both main characters are surgeons. The hero will grab you right from the first. The heroine's parents were killed on Christmas eve many years ago but the pain is still with her. Our hero loves Christmas and he just won't back down or take no for an answer. He wins her heart and turns her whole life around. It was really good. Strong hero, heroine with a brain, and a good story of coming together. Had a lot of medical terms, etc. but all very easy to understand and helped the story. I really enjoyed it and read it in one sitting. Couldn't put it down. Highly recommend it, you can't lose with this one. Great story.

3.0 out of 5 stars Is the heroine a contortionist? December 2, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
An Evergreen Christmas by Tanya Woodwin
A fairly typical romance, sweet story. I'm only giving this 3 stars due to the many, many editing issues. The French name for chicken in wine is Coq au Vin, not Coco Vin. There are many places throughout the book where words are missing. "Her stomach fluttered and her had gone dry." "Let's go take of Clifford." Holly bit her bottom and paused." I'll assume the missing word here is "lip" unless Holly is a contortionist and she actually did bite her bottom. That would certainly make ME pause.

I don't know anything about the process of formatting a file for an ebook but I'm wondering if these missing words are a result of that process. I read 4-6 books a week and all the ebooks from smaller publishers or self-publishers have tons of missing words. Way too many tor a proofreader to miss. While it's almost always possible to determine the missing words, it's jarring, and interrupts the flow of the story.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice Romance, but ... January 7, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
An Evergreen Christmas was a nice romance. Good story. There were far too many editing errors, however, especially toward the end. They detracted from the story. The characters were ok, but not really as well rounded as I like.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Story, Minor Editorial Issues November 27, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a sweet story of Dr. Holly Green, who avoids any celebration of the Christmas season due to a personal tragedy. Enter Dr. Noel Shepherd, handsome new surgeon in the hospital where Holly works. The attraction is immediate and strong.

I appreciated the fact that love changed Holly, made her a little less stringent -- after all, doesn't love make us all a little better? I also always enjoy the snooty "other woman" type character getting her come-uppance, so that was gratifying, too.

There were some editorial issues, such as missing words, transposed words, etc. I also chuckled when I read about Noel eating "Coco Vin" (coq au vin). But I wouldn't say the editing problems were bad enough to take away from the story. I'll look for more from this author, and hope she finds a better proof-reader.

3.0 out of 5 stars Quick Read November 27, 2012

A quick read and fairly entertaining. The poor editing was a distraction! Surely e-books can be submitted in better shape to the public.
