Somewhere deep in the Amazon jungle, there is a secret laboratory that is producing the world's greatest female singers. I mean, how do the Brazilians do it? Elis Regina, Joyce, Vania Abreu, Fernanda Porto, Adriana Calcanhotto...I could go on and on...and now we have that incredibly deep voice of Ana Rita Joana Iracema e Carolina. You'd never guess that someone who looks so delicate and girlish would have such a voice. It is overpowering without ever sounding pushed. It reminds me somewhat of Maria Bethania's and (agreeing with another reviewer here) of Cassia Eller's but I like Ana's more and it is well displayed in this fine set of well-arranged and fresh-sounding songs. Very danceable too. Check it out. I wish she were coming to my town. I'd have a front row seat for sure.

This cd is incredibly enjoyable. Ana's voice is richly textured and deeply moving. The music is mature, nuanced and energetic. One need not understand Portuguese to fall in love with this cd. Highly recommended. If you like Cassia Eller, Maria Bethania, or Joni Mitchell I bet you will love this cd.

I received this cd as a birthday present. I didn't listen to it right away but as soon as I heard her voice, I was highly impressed and fell in love instantly.
My favorites are songs 1, 3, 5, 7, 12, and 15. Her voice reminds me of Cassia Eller, another favorite of mine.
I'm afraid that if I keep playing the cd, I'll get tired of it. However, I highly doubt that. This is a great find and I'm looking for to listening to her earlier work.

This is one of the best CDs I've bought in a long time. I love it from beggining to end; all the tracks. The music is very good. I feel like getting up and dancing every time I hear it. Ana Carolina's voice is beautiful and unique. This one is a must buy.

I bought this CD in a visit to Brazil, and rightb away fel in love with it. With powerful lyrics and enchanting music, it is one of the best CD I have. Her voice is unique, and the production is perfect, so if you like non conventional singers, go and buy it as soon as you can, even if you don't speak Portuguese!

Although I don't speak fluent Portugese, I love this CD ! The lyrics and melodies are to say the least, mesmerizing. With her incredible voice and fabulous arrangements, this is truly an addictive piece of work that can transend language barriers.

This is one of the best New Voices coming from Brasil. A country that has given the world such greats as Maysa, Ellis, Maria Bethania , Zizi Possi and Gal Costa has now managed to create a continuation of such greats in the incredible voice of Ana Carolina. She has the strength and power of Maria Bethania, the feeling of Maysa, the melody of Ellis, Zizi Possi and Gal Costa. I encourage you to watch her utube videos as you will be mezmerised by such an incredible talent. You will fall in love. Now all we need is to create the audience necessary to bring her to town. Incredible, Fantastic Music.
