5.0 out of 5 stars Great info. Changed my life!
All the info contained in the book was very in depth. I thought I knew a lot but after reading this book I was shocked at how much I had learned. Anthony and everyone else who had a hand in the creating of this book: I cant thank you enough, it has gave me so much knowledge and changed my life for the better in the process. Dont listen to any of the BS, this book is GREAT!

2.0 out of 5 stars DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!, October 17, 2006
This review is from: Anabolic Steroids: Ultimate Research Guide (Paperback)
I don't know why this book is getting such good reviews. Perhaps these other customers are meat heads? I don't know what book THEY read, but this book is simply NOT GOOD!

This book was backed by a steroid website, and as such, the information is of VERY POOR QUALITY! This book is a cheap money-making scheme. THERE ARE WEB SITE ADVERTISEMENTS IN THIS BOOK! They actually have the nerve to refer to the book readers as their web site members! Every chapter has a footer that is a blatant advertisement for their website! There is actually an entire chapter on beating steroid tests, which is NOTHING MORE THAN AN ADVERTISEMENT for one single product. The product web site is then listed throughout the entire book, in addition to the steroid web site I already mentioned. I honestly feel tricked.

This book follows the trend of the steroid industry. Meaning, IT IS BIASED INFORMATION that is 25% useful and 75% bull. It's like reading a forum member's excited review of a product and then finding out that he works for the company that makes that product. I cannot responsibly accept the information in this book as completely factual.

Summary:
This book is unprofessional. It hasn't been edited or proofread. There are countless spelling, grammar, and sentence structure errors. The information contradicts itself and seems to be taken directly from internet forums. The author is merely a self-proclaimed authority on the topic, when in reality, he's just another careless abuser with little-to-no respect or regard for safety. He brags about volunteering his body to test experimental underground laboratory steroids, as if he is some kind of fearless pioneer in the world of steroids. There is virtually NO focus on PCT (post-cycle treatment), and the "stacks" he proposes are mostly useless. The first "cycle" he recommends is 500mg of test for 12 weeks. That's it? That's why I bought this "ultimate research guide?" You can find sample stacks/cycles online... better ones. This whole book reminds me of my high school research papers: no substance, no new information, mostly filler, and ultimately I just don't care who reads it as long as I get credit for it. You can learn just as much by eaves-dropping in a locker room. THIS IS NOT INTELLIGENT INFORMATION! I bought this book to fill in the details of my personal steroid research... it failed to do so.

Content Quality:
This book is VERY POORLY written. The entire book is riddled with spelling errors, grammatical errors, and nonsensical sentences. Paragraphs don't flow together and if I didn't know any better, I'd say 90% of this book is cut-and-pasted from steroid forums. You may not think these details are important, but this book is so bad, the information integrity is actually compromised. Here's an example:

"Product X has very high anabolic properties, with mild anabolic properties."

Now, clearly one of those "anabolic" should have been "androgenic," but which one?

Completeness:
On the back of this book, there is a bulleted list of topics that suggest the extend of the information inside. IT IS NOT ACCURATE! Despite the entries "Buying Steroids" and "Injection Techniques," the available information is limited to about 1 page for each. Meanwhile, the Profiles sections take up over 95% of the pages.

Basically, the ONLY useful information in this book is the profiles. I will say that the list of steroids is quite extensive. Although, I'm not sure how useful this really is. I guess if you stumbled upon some rare, exotic steroid and wanted to know about it, this book would be a good place to start. Each profile is about half a page of scientific stats (molecular weight, anabolic:androgenic ratios, recommended dose, etc.) followed by VERY INFORMAL descriptions of the specified steroid. The information is "forum-quality." By that I mean it isn't based on any science, but rather the general opinion of the bodybuilding community. You mean the same community that is rating this TERRIBLE BOOK with 5 stars?

There is no reason for this book to be so expensive, and there is no reason why it's being rated so well. If you are new to steroid research, perhaps the apparent comprehensiveness is impressive. If you are looking for quality information... DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK. If you are looking for information on steroids with an emphasis on safety... DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK. This book should be thought of only as a directory of specific steroids and their properties. If that's what you need... there is a free copy of this book on its way to my landfill.

1.0 out of 5 stars I Have A Lil' Secret For You All..., March 8, 2009
This review is from: Anabolic Steroids: Ultimate Research Guide (Paperback)
I'm not sure if any of you "real" reviewers here follow the steroid and bodybuilding culture but there is a mainstay truth that must be understood to realize why anybody would buy this book let alone give it a 5 star rating: Anthony Roberts is a total schlep. Honestly, google the guy. Get past the first 3 or 4 pages of which he is self-promoting and find out what the "real" bodybuilders think of him.

Also, and this is VERY IMPORTANT, all these 5 star ratings are from Anthony Roberts by Anthony Roberts for Anthony Roberts. He simply logs on from a different username and password from his home computer or that of friends and gives himself high marks to help promote his book. Then on his blogs and website uses the Amazon high ratings as promotion for his book. This guy simply copies and pastes others work and takes credit for it. Plus, the little work he does himself is total suspect and in fact he has been banned or kicked off just about every major underworld website on the internet because of lackluster cycles and his propensity to get others injured from his lack of medical or scientific background.

The guy has a Bachelors degree in English from Pete's sake. Now, this does come in handy when trying to write a book but when said book is of a scientific and research nature that background definitely gets called into question.

For your own sakes, do not purchase this book. For 1. it's just not very good and 2. the whole premise of it comes from that of a person of great knowledge and understanding, which it most certainly does not! He should be behind bars not selling books to unsuspecting consumers. Food for thought.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's The Best so Dump the Rest, June 18, 2006
This review is from: Anabolic Steroids: Ultimate Research Guide (Paperback)
Sorry people, but most authors in this field are techno-geek weenies with no real life experience. This man knows of what he speaks. He has Been There and Done That. You want to know his background? This is information from a radio talk show host as info provided by Hooker himself for that show: "At 17 he was a competitive martial artist, ultimately winning a silver medal in his state martial arts tournament in the black belt division. His firsthand experience in steroids began after he switched sports and began playing rugby, in which he ultimately made two consecutive appearances at the hooker position in the national collegiate all-star games. Along the way to his two national appearances, he won Player of the Year at his university and started every single game for all four years, spending every year since the end of the first as the team captain. Shortly after graduating college with a B.A. in English and another in Philosophy, this MENSA member moved to New Zealand where he played first division rugby union in the north Harbour province and second grade rugby league. During this time competing at an elite level of athletics, he continued his intensive study of anabolics, ultimately resulting in the writing and publication of several articles in the field of anabolics and training." Now that's what I'm talking about. Check the forums at Mind and Muscle and at MESO and at T-Nation. These are sights what the actual users frequent. You'll find Anthony Roberts or Hooker over there but hardly none of these other dudes. They might talk the talk but none of they walk the walk. And meantime Hooker is out there writing articles like "Designing an Anabolic Steroid Cycle" and "Post Cycle Therapy (PCT)" that the Bro's can use and from someone that they can trust that has been there and is there himself. Hooker is also doing service as a Moderator for some of these forums and very active on all of them where he is very highly respected by the Bro's. Don't waste your money elsewhere. This is what your looking for if you want to know what to do and how to do it.

5.0 out of 5 stars ..The best AAS reference available, July 1, 2006
This review is from: Anabolic Steroids: Ultimate Research Guide (Paperback)
I've read this book from cover to cover 3 times. It provides up to date info that isn't included in many so-called "steroid references". It covers the resposible use of ancillaries, AAS, and post-cycle therapy.
It is well-written in straightfoward everyday language that makes it a "must have" for anyone interested in the subject of anabolic/androgenic steroids.
Don't believe the hype put out by the mainstream media, buy the book and read it for yourself....

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Read., June 30, 2006
This review is from: Anabolic Steroids: Ultimate Research Guide (Paperback)
This book is an excellent insight into how to correctly use Anabolic Steroids. There is so much Media and Government BS going around about the danger of steroids that it is truely mystifying to me. Why are cigarettes and alchohol not treated the same way, they kill a hell of a lot more people than steroids ever will, the reason of course is money

This book gives accurate and intelligent information on the use of Anabolic Steroids. It has been of enormous help to me, I am 51 years old and steroids at my age are a gift from god, I will be using them until I see him. Congratulations to Anthony Roberts on a truely remarkable book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Real Facts - Not Media sensationalism, July 1, 2006
By
MAXIMA5 (Northeast Ohio, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Anabolic Steroids: Ultimate Research Guide (Paperback)
Many intelligent people understand that steroids are merely performance enhancing chemicals that are used safely by educated users. They do not harm anyone, and are definitely not the downfall of society. So a few dedicated athletes like to pefect their physiques - so what?

The media and government have demonized steroid use for their own personal gain, not for the betterment of society.

Don't be a sheep that is told what to believe by the media and our trustworthy (sarcasm) government.

Read this book and learn the truth for yourself.
