When I heard from my friend that Claudio from Coheed and Cambria
was involved with this project, I new that I had to give it a listen.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not really my taste but great if you're into this stuff
I first heard about Anadivine over the summer, browsing amazon CD's. I heard Alcohol and Oxygen and decided to but this EP. My first impression was that this band was a more classic-rock/emo orriented version of Coheed and Cambria. But after a few more listens I found that they were more than that. 5.0 out of 5 stars EP Review, December 3, 2005
This review is from: Anadivine (Audio CD)
I got this for my birthday a couple years ago. I knew Claudio made an appearance, and since Coheed has always been my favorite band, I had high hopes. Luckily I wasn't let down since it was my birthday and all. Though they don't transcend different genres, they still create a really melodic catchy sound. The lyrical content on the Ep show a lot of potential (which they didn't really improve on the LP)
especially Emily and the Stalker and The Songwriter. Claudio's verse
on Cross You're Heart was the highlight of the EP, which is also the stand out track as well. I highly recommend.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not really my taste but great if you're into this stuff, October 10, 2005

I first heard about Anadivine over the summer, browsing amazon CD's. I heard Alcohol and Oxygen and decided to but this EP. My first impression was that this band was a more classic-rock/emo orriented version of Coheed and Cambria. But after a few more listens I found that they were more than that. Lyrically this band is far above average. Although I would categorize them in the emo lyric pool due to the numerous songs about girls/emo stuff, they do a better job than most bands in the genre. There's some pretty deep meanings here if you look deep enough. So cuddo's to that. I also noticed that there's a guest appearance from Claudio from Coheed on here. That wasn't much of a surprise being that their sound reminds of that band. In fact, they use a lot of the same elements. The mainly rock guitar with a bit of metal mixed in and those ever so high screams that manage to sneak in every once in a while. These guys are all clearly talented with their instruments and manage to create a fun and original sound. Songs like Filling the lungs and Emily show this clearly.

Now, that's not to say this EP does not have flaws. There are just as many throwaway songs on here as good ones. Maybe only 2 songs that really stand out. Again, I don't usually go for stuff like this so ignore that if you like this style of music.

The biggest problem I saw with this was that I kept thinking I was missing out on a good band. The song alcohol and oxygen is probably on of the best I've heard as far as Emoish stuff goes, but the rest of the CD lacks. Basicly, what I'm saying is that this band has much potential and they need to find their sound. I'll expect better from them in the future. I wouldn't be surprised if these guys reach CO&CA level prestidge. They difinatly have the talent and the connections.

So, overall this EP gets a 6 out of 10 and I would say buy this if you like mellow rockish emo or Co&CA, and maybe for indie fans too.

4.0 out of 5 stars Buy their New LP on Sept 21, 2004, September 16, 2004

The Zoo album will blow you away. It has hints of this album but with so much more to it. As the above people have stated, this album does try to shift between genres. If you love hearing many things going on an album then you should check out Zoo. They try so much different things in the album that it creates its own distinct sound from anything I ever heard before. It's energetic, it's catchy, it's down right beautiful...check it out.

these guys are from kinda where i live, so of coarse i had to check them out. all of the songs on here are great. "Cross your Heart" is one of the best songs ive heard in a long time. and "alcohol and oxygen" is amazing too. they've got a nice 'screemo' sound.... good mix of singing/screaming. all the tunes have a good mix of melody and hardcore sound. its definatly worth buying. cant wait for the full length!

i couldn't wait to buy this cd. i absolutly love their sound and lyrics. i can't wait to hear more from this band. "alcohol and oxygen" pulled me in first by the title of the song. i love how the song opens...slow and then gets harder as it ends. i can't even explain to you how much i love this cd! you would be a fool not to buy it!

wowi am surprised that there are actually other peopl that know who anadivin is.
untill i saw them ata battel of bands at my town's college (elizabethtown), i had no clue of them, but watching their performance, which wasnt as energetic as iusually prefer, and hearing their songs, which didnt have as much brutal screaming as i typically desire, i knew tey were an aquired taste, once i got absorbed into their lyrics(around the 2nd song) i knew i fell in love with thir music, and bought the ep, theyr lyrics are unimaginably poetic, an tug on your heartstring and your concience, they are a great band and i hope they become successfull and coem up in my area soon
