5.0 out of 5 stars Anal Sex for Couples
First class research and writing, just like their book Threesome, ASFC gives us new and interesting information that encourages couples to take small steps as they gradually explore the often considered but unknown "forbidden zone". First class research and writing, just like their book Threesome, ASFC gives us new and interesting information that encourages couples to take small steps as they gradually explore the often considered but unknown "forbidden zone". It's not Pee Cee, thank God! And it's the only book out there that's aimed at couples. With 14 years of private practice in marriage counseling I know that couples are wise to explore every aspect of the Joy of Sex. This best book I've seen to help couples. Gammon and Strong have done it again. Courage is their best virtue! R. Don Steele google me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Most complete sexplanation I own, September 22, 2007
This review is from: Anal Sex for Couples: A Guaranteed Guide for Painless Pleasure (Perfect Paperback)
This manual has more concentrated information than any other in my library - a perfect blend of research and experience. You could spend a lot more money on ten other books and still miss some of the newer revelations in this one candid, humorous volume. (Why can't you tickle yourself and how does this effect anal pleasure? Why do women first hate and then grow to love enemas?)

I recommend this book as the best start for beginners. However, anal lovers of either gender or inclination will discover new information on the deeper "hows and whys" of human sexuality and pleasure.

For technical anatomy questions and anal health concerns, I also recommend "Anal Pleasure and Health" by Dr. Jack Morin, the best of the other books.

4.0 out of 5 stars A mine of useful information, April 8, 2008
This review is from: Anal Sex for Couples: A Guaranteed Guide for Painless Pleasure (Perfect Paperback)
I was attracted to this book by the words 'couples' and 'painless' in the title. As a happily married man who is occasionally allowed anal sex as a treat I had hoped my wife would read it and increase her own pleasure and enthusiasm. When reading other anal sex guides it is not always clear whether the author is male or female, straight or gay. The heterosexual authors are clearly enthusiasts. The book is full of useful information and tips for the experienced or novice. It does suffer from the absence of photos or drawings unlike another very good guide - A Masterclass in Anal Sex by Charlotte Webb. Masterclass: Anal Sex These two volumes, between them, supply all the knowledge needed for mutually enjoyable anal sex. I would recommend both most highly. Unfortunately my wife would read neither!

4.0 out of 5 stars Lots of information!, March 26, 2008

This review is from: Anal Sex for Couples: A Guaranteed Guide for Painless Pleasure (Perfect Paperback)
This book contained lots of information. I would have preferred some pictures and/or diagrams, though, as some of the positions took a little bit of thinking to figure out what went where -- especially for a novice. I really liked that the book gave quite a bit of information re: websites and phone numbers to check out additional items. I think the book was worth it from that point alone.

5.0 out of 5 stars For painless pleasure this book's a treasure!!, November 25, 2009
This review is from: Anal Sex for Couples: A Guaranteed Guide for Painless Pleasure (Perfect Paperback)
I don't know how many hundred-something paged books with glossy covers
and sensational titles I have purchased in the past on the subject of
anal sex. In each I found mostly white space, a dearth of useful
information and heavy padding. Many authors seemed to be repackaging
things they read elsewhere and were offering very little to no new
information to the reader. This book is NOTHING like that.

Bill Strong's writing is that only an experienced veteran with a
passion for learning could produce. It's a treasure trove of
information and is packed dense into his roughly 300 pages of
information. Fear not, if you just want to get to the meat of the
book and learn how to enjoy anal sex, he gives that to you right up
front in 40 or so pages (note: other books seem to hold that info for
the end and then only provide general and obvious ideas such as "go
slowly" and "use lots of lube" - large build up and no punch). The
remainder of the ASFC is devoted to more advanced techniques, and
useful information.

The reader gets a distillation of Bill's years of experience, hands on
experimentation and thorough research. Many authors seem to tout at
most the latter. In addition to being better researched than most
books I have seen on the subject, ASFC includes tons of practical
advice which will save you time, frustration and even some money
(Lori's lube recipe alone is well worth the price of the book many
times over).

The Short "Cautions" sections sprinkled throughout the text left me
thinking a number of times "Oh, I never thought of that!" about things
I would never have considered. Other sections had me exclaiming
"That's why!" about things which had heretofore left me perplexed (Why
does this lube seem to dry up faster every time I add more?). Thanks
to this book I have learned all the clever little "tricks of the
trade" to make operations run smoothly and sensually.

I appreciate the author's clear authority on the subject as well as
his modesty and humility. Through tales of his earlier days he
ensures you learn from his mistakes. Few people will admit to their
earlier follies and fewer still will admit when they touch on a
subject which is beyond the scope of their expertise, in the rare case
this happens (fisting) Bill gracefully points you to a separate
authority on the subject. This writing integrity has made me a
follower of his and Lori's (coauthor) works. OK, maybe it was just
the explicit limericks.

There once was a man named bill
Who wrote of a secret thrill.
For painless pleasure
His book's a treasure.
I'm sure you will get your fill.

5.0 out of 5 stars Old dog learns new tricks, December 2, 2009
This review is from: Anal Sex for Couples: A Guaranteed Guide for Painless Pleasure (Perfect Paperback)
Having read only a one other book (Anal Pleasure & Health: A Guide for Men and Women) on the subject, I found this book a joy to read. Even though it's written by a duo (Lori Gammon and Bill Strong), the voice is all Bill's and not condescending or vulgar in any way. It's refreshing to hear that yes, we humans DO like anal sex and while some may find it difficult to admit, there isn't anything vulgar about it. I've heard that many sexual technique books are heavily padded to justify the price tag but this book is well worth the price and is NOT padded at all.

I found the book intriguing and full of explanatory details on all aspects of anal erotica and erotic techniques. Sprinkled with humor, Bill confidently explains his past experiences and how NOT to repeat his mistakes and even admits when he's not experienced and where to turn for further help. This book contains straightforward advice for both partners, whether you're working on delivering or enjoying the receiving. The details on products, techniques, role reversal, films, and even diet are thorough. It's amazing it all fits in 300 pages.

This book does assume you're in a relationship with an interested partner and is more focused on answering questions that either of the partners might have. For those who need help persuading their partners, I found the section on persuading partners to be somewhat lacking in ideas and strategies to help convince a partner to explore new avenues of pleasure. Bill is plainly aware of the volume of roadblocks that prevent people from exploring anal pleasure and could probably write a whole book about the four most common roadblocks. While this book is not a strategy guide to convince your partner to HAVE anal sex, don't let that prevent you from picking it up. On the contrary, if you can convince your partner to read it, the rest of the book IS the strategy on how anal pleasure is so good. Let the experience do the talking.

Even though I'm a product of the 60's, I often feel uncomfortable when exploring my own sexuality. Thankfully this book left me feeling at ease when reading about a topic many consider the largest sexual taboo. At first, I expected this book to deliver the most basic information about how to get it on with my mate but instead I found it extremely helpful at finding my own boundaries. Better yet, it left me pleasantly surprised at what I might be interested in exploring further. I'm also thankful for the new tricks I learned and because of reading this book I'm more confident that I won't fumble when it matters most.

Thanks Bill and Lori, your book was well enjoyed!

i should admit writer is real smart guy he arranged chapters in such a manner that what you want to know is right there in beginning just one problem thats why i gave 4 stars he cross linked his chapter way too much "e.g making your partner agree for this ____read chapter 16 and comeback" it creates little distraction otherwise everything you want to know is there .
You just need two books to complete/master your straight sexuality this one for anal and for normal sex "Great Sex by Michael Castleman" and you`ll not regret .Enjoy !!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Adventure Starts Here, August 26, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Anal Sex for Couples: A Guaranteed Guide for Painless Pleasure (Perfect Paperback)
When my husband and I, here in flyover country, were considering setting out on an anal sex adventure, I began purchasing books on the subject. Many months later I have a stack of books in near pristine condition and one copy of "Anal Sex for Couples" with dog-eared pages, a creased cover, and sticky notes on a dozen pages. Clearly this is my adventure guide of choice.

The author writes with an encouraging, casual tone that is at times hilarious (this is FUN we're having, after all), and often a turn-on (so read it together!). The book's best feature, though, is the detailed, almost step-by-step instructions that we really wanted and needed, especially at the outset. I just did not find that in any other book.

So, if you're thinking about a new adventure of your own, (it'll be fun!) this may be the only guide you need.
