Editorial Reviews

Review

'Analysing Learner Language will serve as a solid introduction to the field of SLA research. Being comprehensive and eclectic in addressing the research methods and the various sample studies reviewed in it (see especially Chapter 11), the text will appeal not only to a wide array of professors, graduate students in TESOL or Applied Linguistics, but also to other educators who are interested in SLA. It will also be of interest to language teachers who are keen to find out how their students learn.' - Lawrence Jun Zhang, Regional Language Centre (RELC) Journal 37.1, 2006

'This is a unique book that is particularly valuable for postgraduate students beginning to learn to do research in this aspect of applied linguistics. Moreover, the book is exceptionally comprehensive and eclectic in the range of research methods and epistemologies of enquiry it addresses, ensuring it appeals to a wide variety of professors, postgraduate students, and other educators.' - Professor Alister Cumming, University of Toronto

'Analysing Learner Language is a notable book offering an up-to-date introduction to the major key issues in SLA research and bringing together a significant amount of research studies conducted in this field of enquiry...The wealth of examples and the detail of discussion make this book an extremely useful reference for those involved in SLA studies.' - Yasemin Kirkgoz, Lecturer in English Language Teaching, University of Cukurova, Turkey

This book is a required text for a course I am doing. It is not easy to read but necessary and not a book I would usually buy.
