This 1972 work applies Gurfinkel's 1967 simplified analysis of Vierendeel structures with rigid joints. In this instance, an example is given of a tall building, with large openings, subject to a lateral force (wind). Unfortunately, the author does not give examples of Vierendeel structures that are much wider than taller, and subject to loads at either the top or the bottom.
