A magic key to understanding the Greek New Testament!, September 19, 1996
By A Customer
This review is from: Analytical Greek New Testament (Including Greek Text Analysis) (Baker's Greek New Testament Library, 1) (Hardcover)
The editors perform a much needed service to all those students of the New Testament who can't remember the marvels of Koine Greek morphology and syntax. Each word of the Greek New Testament is analyzed in terms of tense, number, person, gender, etc.
A simple alpha-numeric code provides the key to parsing any word.
Companion volumes by the same authors use this analyzed text to provide lexical and grammatical concordances of the entire Greek New Testament.
A most useful study companion for students and scholars alike.

Excellent Resource for Studying Word Meaning in the Greek New Testament, July 25, 2008
This review is from: Analytical Greek New Testament (Including Greek Text Analysis) (Baker's Greek New Testament Library, 1) (Hardcover)
This book was a hand-me-down that has been in my library for a few years now. It is only recently that I discovered the value it held for someone studying the New Testament. As an example, I was trying to determine the meaning of some verbs in Luke 19:8, where Zacchaeus is speaking.
There is some discussion regarding the situation as he has just me Jesus. He makes a statement that he gives half his money to the poor, and if he wrongs anyone he restores fourfold.
The verbs indicate that he currently gives half his money to the poor; this is not a practice he is about to begin due to meeting Jesus. He also "admits" (through the verb use) that he has cheated, but no longer does so, and he pays back anyone he has cheated 4 times more than cheated. The verb also indicates he will continue to pay back anyone else who might come to him with an accusation they have been cheated.
That's a slightly different slant than the account I was taught as a child.
So, for me this is an excellent resource. It will be staying in my library!
