Book Description

Poetry. "Sam Truitt gives 'mouth to mouth resuscitation' to the ancient quest poem as he writes 'to voyage is to become/Hysterical.' In the maximal narrative loop of this book, Marilyn Monroe's skirt is perpetually going 'whoosh' in an Einsteinian vacuum where 'the displacement of the figure is the form" -Peter Gizzi.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bardic Bop, March 25, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Anamorphosis Eisenhower (Paperback)
Sam Truitt is one of the few American poets willing to go for "the big statement" and who at the same time is able to sound completely himself (i.e. not pretentious) doing it. His range mixes the sublime and the silly in ways that honor both. His form circles back around, accreting the reader's sense that this is Ye Olde Vatic Utterance, and yet feels utterly contemporary -- always keeping the reader's head up for the next thing. Delirious stuff.

5.0 out of 5 stars Big Show!!!!!!, April 14, 1999
By A Customer

Seriously rock 'em/sock 'em hard-boiled lit. Books like this don't come around accept once in a hundred years or so. You can smell the ink coming right off the page blowing the dust off your brain cells.

5.0 out of 5 stars I really really really liked reading the poems in this book, March 30, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Anamorphosis Eisenhower (Paperback)
It was like the first time I opened my eyes and looked out on the world. It was more than reading a book. It was like finding a new system of beliefs, a whole new way of seeing and being in the world. Sam Truitt is not just a great poet, he is a great man, a leader and a true gift to God's Earth.
