Well written, beautifully told.

The book helps to put the chronology of his life together and paints a picture of this master through the eyes of close disciples.

For more than 20 years now people all over the world have been waiting for a worthy biography of the spiritual master Shrii Shrii Anandamurti. The Jamalpur Years more than satisfies this need. Meticulously researched and artfully crafted, it tells the story of one of the most enigmatic figures of the 20th Century. Was he a visionary saint? A Tantric master? A miracle worker? A political radical?
Anandamurti was all of these and more: a giant personality, who established a world wide organisation, yet was so reclusive that few have heard of him.
In Devashish's book, part one of three, the first layer of the veil of mystery is removed. As the story progressed I found myself wondering how it could get more incredible, and then it did. I lost sleep and cut my meditation short to find the hours to continue. Close Your Eyes and Open Your Mind An Introduction to Spiritual Meditation
If you want to take your understanding of spirituality and Anandamurti's amazing vision of a world where peace and justice prevail to a deeper level, you must read this book.

Not many times have I had the opportunity to read biographies as good a this. This is a great book , not only because of the amount of research behind the story, but because the author has the ability to keep you interested in the magic, and beauty of Anandamurti. It was a joy to read about this amazing spiritual master.

Well written, beautifully told. Sweet stories of surrender and Love. He said "I was a mystery. I am a mystery. I will always be a mystery.", but this book gives sweet and keen insights into this Mystery. Highly recommended, especially to those that like "Autobiography of a Yogi" and do not know much about Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji.

This book is written in simple and story like manner. A book or set of books cannot do justice to Shri Shri Anandamurti, but this can be considered as a tribute.
The book lifted my spirits. It is highly engrossing and motivating.

It also tells us, that there is hope to the current crisis in the world. We have to work harder.

For some strange reason, I felt a desire to keep reading the book.
BABA had that special charisma and magnetism in him.

Future generations, will be able to see their divine Guru thru this book besides there Sadhana.

BABA, I always adored you, despite my shortcomings.

I have read quite a few books about the life of Shrii Shrii Anandamurti, most of them written from the point of view of some of the Indian devotees who spent extended time with him. This book is unique because its written by a westerner who has a very clear understanding of both the life of Anandamurti, as well as the social and spiritual context that he operated in. Its a seamless narrative, which is quite a feat given that a lot of it is composed of a large collection of anecdotes by those close to him in the early years of his teachings.

The book reveals an extraordinary spiritual teacher, one who was also - uniquely - concerned about politics, economics, and the dogmas that divide people.

Its a great read, and really a must-have book for those interested in outstanding spiritual teachers.

This book is an excellent account of the early years of perhaps the most facinating individual to have lived on the planet since the time of Jesus of Nazareth. It is a compilation of the written reports of persons who had first-hand experiences with Anandamurti (P.R. Sarkar: 1922-1990). Many of the stories seem almost unbelievable and paint a picture of a superhuman personality that possessed omniscience and extraordinary powers of mind and body. But this book is not a work of fiction. All the incidents described actually happened. It is a must read for anyone remotely interested in learning about the secret world of a true spiritual master and it ranks with Autobiography of a Yogi as one of premier spiritual texts of all time.

If you're a spiritualist, this book is very inspiring as it documents various historical incidents that happened during the life time of Shri Shri AnanadaMurthi, a founder and philosopher of Ananda Marga. It documents meticulously the power and potentialities of Anandamurthi during his life on this dusty earth.
