A little reluctant to buy this becaues it was made in India.
When it arrived , I was very pleased.
Quality appears excellent .
Made a few minor modifications :
1) Mounting holes needed a little filing for 1/2" diameter bolts
2) Created small flats on the lower mounting pads to make room for washers under the nuts. ( used grinder )
3) Installed 3/4" oak faces for the vise
The vise is very sturdy and of excellent quality.
I would recommend it for purchase.

I bought 30 of the record vises for my school shop..2yrs. later the quick action mechanism no longer functions properly on 25% of them making them difficult to use.The quick release mechanism is not well designed for continious use.

This one is a keeper. Better quality castings than the Shop fox and Harbor freight vises. The fit is pretty good, but mine was a little off at the jaws. It was just a l/32 or so from parallel when closing the jaws, and a little off of square at the mounting holes to rear jaw. Both of these were not really an issue, since I was mounting wood faces to the jaws.
The action is very smooth and the quick release works very well. I get very little racking in use and the vise seems to shed sawdust very well (no issues with threads getting gummed up). Holding strenght is more than enough (especially with leather faced wood jaws :)
The vise itself is very beefy and built to last, I'll let you know in a few years if there is any failures/issues.
I wanted to compare this one to the Jorgensen vise but I never got my hands on the Jorgey. It was just as good as the Bessey vise I had, and seems as good as the Wilton I have (in the tail position).
If you can catch a sale on Amazon the vise is a top value (mine was had for $93 with free shipping).

This vice looks like the more expensive Record vice but it is not as well made. The metal work is visibly cruder, but it still works. However the two steel rods that carry the vice jaws are made from very soft steel. Intense squeezing on the vice or pounding on whatever the vice is holding with serious hammer blows will bend them. We have had this Anant vice alongside its Record equivalent for seven months, and the students have bent the Anant vice's rods. By contrast the Record vice has been working fine for more than twelve years.

The Anant vice is a great deal if you can treat it gently.
