Try it and you'll stay, January 5, 2003
This review is from: Anarchy Online - The Notum Wars (CD-ROM)
I was dubious about this game because of the disastrous launch. However, I downloaded the free trial and purchased it before my trial even ran out. I was fortunate enough to beta test the Notum Wars expansion. It adds entirely new elements to the game which are of special interest to PVPers and guild members. Although this product is labelled an expansion, I urge you to buy this version if you are new to the game, since it contains the regular game as well. If you buy the special edition instead, you'll more than likely find yourself buying this later. Within a month of going to AO, I found myself dropping EQ, AC, and several other games. I was hooked! It's solo friendly and no two characters are remotely alike. Over the last few months I have gotten 7 people I know to download the trial. Of the 7 people, ALL 7 decided to buy it. If you're still unsure, download the Anarchy Online trial, but you'll probably find yourself wanting Notum Wars eventually. The trial does not allow you to use the expanded features.

Shocking, April 28, 2003
This review is from: Anarchy Online - The Notum Wars (CD-ROM)
Anarchy Online has come so far it's simply shocking. This game is definitive of a buggy release, but what a game there was hiding in there! There's a load of complexity here. Learning how to best shape your character. Some very pleasant graphics with a great cyberpunk look. Enjoyable combat. A diversity of races and classes. They've just revamped the mission system, making them more challenging and visually interesting. There's also a thriving social scene--people actually go to clubs to hang out and to dance. And despite the game's mascot, the fuzzy little dweller of the newbie zone the "leet", the game is populated with largely intelligent people not given to d00dizm. There's no question that while still overlooked, Anarchy Online is among the best of the MMPORPGs along with Everquest, UO, and Camelot.

Notum Wars Is a nice Booster., December 19, 2002
This review is from: Anarchy Online - The Notum Wars (CD-ROM)
What can I say I like AO one of the best Online RPG's out there. Notum Wars is cool. You are able to build a tower to guard a point or x-road :) Or you can solo with a tower. Build one and pull mobs to the tower and it will boost your stats, or attack your enemies and help you take em out. There are lots of diffrent towers to to boost your stats or attacktowers. They look awesome and they are :) I'll recomend Aanarchy to all. The game is not buggy anymore, but ya need a good PC to run it. You will find me near an tower and killing stuff :)
