4.0 out of 5 stars If you love funny you have to read this book!
I recently read the book Anastasia Absolutely By Lois Lowry. It is a book for all ages because it is very funny. It is a chapter book and the reading level is 4.5, but everyone in your family will love the book. The characters in the book are Anastasia, her dog, Mom, Dad, the police, and her little brother. Anastasia's mother tells her to take the dog for a walk and...

Anastasia's mother tells her to take the dog for a walk and mail a very important letter to a publisher. Like most people Anastasia carries a plastic bag with her to carry her dog's dodo. When Anastasia gets to the mailbox she is not paying any attention and puts the dog's dodo in the mailbox instead of the letter to the publisher that is already a day late. Anastasia does not notice until she gets home what she has done. Obviously now she cannot go back to the mailbox and take it out. The next day on her way to school Anastasia sees the police at the mailbox. When she comes home from school the mailbox is gone. Anastasia thinks she will be arrested because what she did is a federal offense. This story takes place in the winter a few years ago. I recommend you read this book because it is a very funny book and everyone will love it. I give it 4.5 stars and one great review.

4.0 out of 5 stars Series redeems itself, March 31, 2011

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Anastasia Absolutely (Paperback)
Lowry returns to form with in the final book in her Anastasia series. Anastasia gets a dog and mistakenly puts it's.. um... droppings in a mailbox instead of the letter she intended to mail. She feels guilty, of course, and struggles with whether to call the post office to confess. At the same time, she is taking a course in "Values' and wrestles with questions like, "If you could shave one day off the end of your life and by doing so save the life of a baby in China, would you?" Anastasia has always had an interesting perspective, and these questions really highlight that as well as induce young readers to think about what they would do in the same situation. As always, the Krupnik family are wildly entertaining as well as realistic secondary characters. I am very pleased by how this series ended up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Anastasia,Absolutely, May 24, 2000

This review is from: Anastasia, Absolutely (Hardcover)
I liked how funny this book was. I thought it was funny when Anastasia put the bag of poop in the mailbox instead of the letters her mom told her to put in the mailbox which was already late. I was glad this book had a dog in it because I love dogs. I thought it was cool that Anastasia put the bag of poop in the mailbox right after the guy put the bomb in the mailbox. I thought that was cool because then she stopped the bomb from exploding and she didn't know that.

A Kid's Review

Anastasia takes the mail outside while walking her new dog. She picks up a "New York Times" newspaper bag and a pooper scooper just in case her new dog does you know what. She walks down a few streets, past houses, people waving and other stuff. Then she gets the idea of naming the dog Slueth because he sniffs lots of stuff like a detective. When she finaly gets to the mailbox she puts away the mail and walks away. When she got home she felt like something was wrong. She retraces her steps and then noticed that she put the newspaper bag of poop in the mailbox with the mail!!!
