Let me begin by saying I did not buy this product from amazon, I received it from a woman who bought it from a doctors office that was closing down.

Durability: When I received this toy it had a few owners, one of which was an environment where it received constant play from multiple children.It is still in excellent condition considering all the play time it has endured. The wood is solid and the entire piece is heavy, don't worry that your child will knock it over or push it around the room. The plastic on the panels are also very thick and it would take considerable force to harm it.

Educational value:This isn't the most educational toy my daughter owns but a good developmental toy none the less. She enjoys identifying the shapes and colors. The panels have Tic Tack Toe, A sign matching game and 3 bead maze type activities.

Just as a note the top can come off and I like to put my daughters extra stuffed animals in it.

My daughter, who is 3, loves this toy and can play with it for hours. The manufacturer recommends this toy for 36 months to 4 years but my daughter has younger and older friends who all enjoy this toy. There are no disconnecting parts that your child could get hurt on or swallow so I would say a two year old could easily enjoy this toy but I would recommend supervising the child while they play.

As far as the current price stands I would say it is worth it if you have a day care or a large family. If you have one or two children and still are interested in getting this it is so durable it could easily be handed though the family as people have children.
