5.0 out of 5 stars Nicely done!, August 12, 2009

This third book provides a wonderful ending to this trilogy. This talented author brings it all together to finish up the series and even manages to give you the "warm fuzzies" of knowing that, in the end, everything ends up the way that it was meant to be.

I will miss these characters, as I have become attached after having read all 3 of them so quickly. I'm sure that I will re-read these - albeit, much slower the second time around. There is only one other series that I have ever wanted to re-read & that is The Twilight Saga. Ms. Hooley's books are definitely joining good company and will most certainly be read again!

This is the third in the series and I loved it as much as the first two. I am looking frward to more from Miss Hooley, and especially the next in this series which is coming soon. I will have to wait to see what happens to Elizabeth, but so far so good.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great ending to a great series!, August 23, 2009

This review is from: Anathema (Sojourner) (Kindle Edition)
The Sojourner trilogy has been a great reading experience, with characters I have grown to care about, a creative story line and enough plot twists to keep you interested but not enough to make you mad. This series is about the amazing power of love, forgiveness, sacrifice, and the struggle between good and evil. The only negative drawback is the numerous amount of typographical and grammatical mistakes, it was actually distracting toward the end. She needs a new editor. This is a great story and these errors should not have happened. I was very satisfied with the ending; this series is definitely a keeper and I look forward to more books from this author.

4.0 out of 5 stars A GREAT CONCLUSION TO THE 4-BOOK SERIES, July 27, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Anathema (Paperback)
Anathema, the fourth and final installment in the Sojourner series by Maria Rachel Hooley was a nicely written conclusion to an impressive series.

I really enjoyed Elizabeth and Lev's journey. I think conclusions must be the hardest thing in the world for authors to write because there is so much at stake and you don't want to disappoint readers. Anathema did not disappoint. I was very happy with the final novel and the way Hooley wrapped things up. She continued with her trend and kept us on our toes! (I can't say too much more because I don't want to give anything away!)

I gave Anathema by Maria Rachel Hooley 4 STARS because it was a stellar conclusion. I strongly recommend the Sojourner series to all young adults who enjoy paranormal romances.

OVERALL I gave the Sojourner series by Maria Rachel Hooley an overall rating of 4 STARS. I think this is a perfect series for teens and young adults who enjoy paranormal, suspense and romance. Sojourner, Covenant, Second Sight and Anthema complete the Sojourner series, and to enjoy this series you need to read every book.

-XOXO

Another brilliant book for Ms. Hooley. They story is beautifully written and makes you really care about the characters. I have to admit that I'm a bit sad now that the story is over. I'd love to read more about Lev and Elizabeth.

An absolute shocker of an ending. It made my jaw drop, lol. But still, it was perfect. this one for me was a bit slower getting started, but by the end i was hanging on every word. i wish Maria would write another just to see how there life went.

I really enjoyed all three of these books. Interesting characters and story line. The only problem was with the third book which had too many errors (misspelled, misused and out of order words), as if the author was in a hurry to finish.

I have read one other book by this author that I really enjoyed and will be reading her other books. Ms. Hooley's books are well-written with believable characters.

5.0 out of 5 stars Anathema, August 12, 2009
This review is from: Anathema (Sojourner) (Kindle Edition)
There are those moments when you finish a trilogy that you are content. I momentarily had that when I finished the Sojourner series, but it was short-lived. I am left with wanting a fourth. I can't wait to get my hands on her other books!

If it were a movie it would no doubt be "Two Thumbs WAY up".

5.0 out of 5 stars Compelling, August 11, 2009

Sometimes, doing the right thing is the hardest thing to do--even after the fact, In Anathema, the third installment of the Sojourner series, Hooley explores the consequences of selflessness and the deeper challenges it often evokes, even to the point of coming full circle. Still, as in the other books, even in the darkest hour we are never far from the light. A fitting conclusion to a masterful series. A+
