certainly the first 5 or 6 chapters are truly an anatomy of an adult film. Actually, probably really good and down to earth information for anyone thinking about getting into the business. The last 8 chapters or so are much sexier. Although still not as titillating as reading truly pornographic literature, it was reasonably exciting. This is the first book of this type I have read; a friend promised to send it to me if I wrote a review. Overall, it was a quick read and the last half was entertaining. Go ahead and read it one weekend, but don't expect a blockbuster novel.

I have not finished the book yet. I am on Chapter 8 right now. All, I can say so far is that I am very Impressed. Ms. Thomas takes you from the start of a young Lady in dancing in a topless bar to much much more. She even takes you into the minds of what a Lady is thinking. Plus, how nervous she is step by step. As she moves up in the adult entertainment world. Ms. Thomas even tells you the technical side of things too. There really is a lot that goes into a movie and the steps to become a star. This book is a must read for anyone that wants to know about how a movie is "filmed" or anyone intrested in a career.

A great, fast readable book that will tell you lots on the West Coast porn industry and more! If you know (and have seen) the work of Sunset Thomas, when reading the book, you'll probablyalso see which movies, and which porn stars and directors she refers to. which makes it all the more fun to read (in a gossipy way!). While the first part is really on how some porn actresses start and live the life of porn movies, the second part - even more interesting - is about the extras: brothels, private parties, etc. - I am sure more could be told on these - perhaps on a sequel??.

Ever wonder what goes into making a porn film? Sunset goes into behind the camera she leads you through the preparation, location and staffing from top to bottom, and little secret things one would never think of. Sunset a.k.a. Princess of Porn is a lady who has gone through all phases of what some may think as the taboo world, a world she feels comfortable in, a world that has been with us since the beginning of time. She sets forth her philolgy on this suject. This is not a story of her life you can find that on internet, this book brings to the reader her philosophy of being in a star role, and yet keeping her feet on the common ground.

I found the book interesting,entertaining and educational.

Sunset has conveyed her enjoyment of sex and especially her fans through her characters,Texas Lightnin'and Double Dynamite.

Sunset! Please write another. The more tips and tricks, the better. All us girls would like to think we can pull off a little Sunset in the bedroom (or kitchen or bathroom or laundry room). What makes your book different is that it's not just another life story, not just another suck-n-swallow how-to book. You know when you see a movie and none of the characters eats a meal or shaves their armpits or colors their hair and the rest of the basic details that allow the character to function? Your book has some of the intimate, essential details of fk-prep, etc that readers want/need to know to function like a real star. Your author-voice is non-threatening and reassuring, something a lot of writers of sex books do not have. The others come off as arrogant or fake, but your conversational style will appeal to many, I'm sure of it.

We all knew that Sunset Thomas is Porns biggest star but she (and her co writer) can also write a great book. It is fun reading, intersting and answers all questions that you might had about the adult industry. It is funny and sexy and I hope that soon there will be Part Two. Strongly reccomended!

being on the fringe of the adult film business i found the book to be a great fast paced read. for anyone wanting a little insider knowledge this is the book for you. sunset has numerous awards etc. so is highly qualified to give an insiders view of the business.. highly recomended read
