This review is from: The Anatomy of the Airplane Second Edition (Paperback)
This book, along with the other two by the same author, ought to be required study for any professional aviator willing to excel. Not for the casual flyer or the average new CPL, though.

The author takes you step by step in a comfortable way. Not the sea of abstraction and mathematics normally asociated with this kind of books. This is a book that teaches you to fly, and the some. You will learn to judge an airplane by how it looks, notice important design factors that affect your piloting, the logic behind choosing a particular feature... all very readable and very in depth.

Don't be fooled by the title of any of them, they are not ment for designers, test pilots and engineers only.
They can be read by anyone who flies no problem, but you might be biting more than you can chew.

Also for aviators but at a more popular level, the three volume set by Barry Schiff. A real deal.
