5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for technically trainged people among others.
I am an engineer, and I have to sell my services. Getting buy-in for my engineering projects was not one of my strong suits until I read Aubuchon's book. I learned an analytical-thinking approach to my proposals. Much to my surprise the techniques presented actually work for me. My scientific background didn't help me much when it came to getting business, but this...

2.0 out of 5 stars Good for preparation of a written sales presentation.
This book is good is helping the reader to prepare written sales proposals. Instead of snowing your prospects with every conceivable feature of your product or service, you can follow the format given in the book to produce a short, one-page presentation that adequately covers the major aspects of whatever you're selling plus how the product or service will provide...

I was in line for a big promotion at my company along with five other people. I read The Anatomy of Persuasion, followed the steps suggested for building a successful proposal, presented my proposal to the CEO and got the job. I am now a VP in a Fortune 500 company. Aubuchon's ideas work.

5.0 out of 5 stars I gained a lifetime skill in the power to persuade others., August 7, 1999

This review is from: The Anatomy of Persuasion: How to Persuade Others To Act on Your Ideas, Accept Your Proposals, Buy Your Products or Services, Hire You, Promote You, and (Paperback)
I have had many good ideas, but my problem has always been to get them accepted and used. I have had some successes and many more failures in getting buy-in at work for my ideas about how to improve the efficiency and quality of our operation. Now, after reading this book, I not only know how to develop successful proposals but I also know why some of my best ideas flopped in the past. It was my own lack of knowledge of how to develop a persuasive message that would be accepted and used. The Anatomy of Persuasion has given me a new skill that will last a lifetime.

Too many good ideas fall by the wayside unused. If you have had your ideas rejected, it may be that you didn't follow the sound principles presented in this book. After reading The Anatomy of Persuasion, I have revised my approach. Aubuchon's clear-cut, step-by-step method works. My success rate for new ideas is very much improved.

This book is good is helping the reader to prepare written sales proposals. Instead of snowing your prospects with every conceivable feature of your product or service, you can follow the format given in the book to produce a short, one-page presentation that adequately covers the major aspects of whatever you're selling plus how the product or service will provide benefits to effectively address the prospect's needs. If, however, your selling job does not involve making written or oral presentations, I find this book to be of little value.

Persuassion was an art that has been put to more productive usage.
The author will define and train us gain that skill - he has invoked that inert, once dormant art - you will no longer be the same - no more anger, but with the will to PERSUADE
