The DVD that comes with the textbook did not work - either on a PC or MAC. The company from which I purchased the book would not, or could not, remedy the problem. So if you buy this book, you may have problems viewing the DVD which is an integral part of the material.

I could not have been more pleased. They shipped immediately. The book was in awesome condition and everything they said it was. Gave me a good start to this class.

This is a very well-written text. As I have read through the book I usually supplement what I read with video that I find on youtube; this helps to re-enforce what I read. The text is written in simple to understand words. The quizzes throughout the chapters are nice.

And the DVD works fine, but there are errors throughout the disc. There are obvious mistakes in how the quizzes and such were done. But the video explanations of procedures and stuff are ok. This book needs a better DVD. The DVD was made poorly. Youtube is probably a lot better. Search youtube for companion videos. Yes there are lots of bad videos on youtube, but there are also some really great ones. There is a youtube channel called: khanacademy. Look it up. His videos are extremely accurate and he makes them funny too.

The only negative I can think of is of the style of book. Being that this is a school text, I feel that tit would of been better if it was done as a hardback type of book instead of paperback.
