A must for anyone interested in health and fitness!,

This review is from: Anatomy and Physiology the Easy Way (Paperback)
I purchased this book to both review and enhance my knowledge of anatomy and physiology. I was most impressed by the step-by-step organization of the material. The self tests are easy to follow and understand. As a personal trainer, I highly (make that strongly) recommend this book for anyone interested in bettering their understanding of the structures within the human body.

This is a good book to be used as a reference for A and P especially if you find textbooks a little too much to read. This book is great for anatomy and physiology students in college. The info is given in a concise, but informative matter. The material in this book is easy to study from. However, I also used the following books which are also available on amazon.com:Anatomy and Physiology Study Guide: Key Review Questions and Answers with Explanations by Patrick Leonardi (Vol 1) ISBN: 0971999619 (Vol 2) ISBN: 0971999627 If you want to know the kind of questions that most A and P teachers ask on college exams, buy the last two books. ...

HELPFUL, but not the best!,
By Jeremiah Robinson (West Virginia, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Anatomy and Physiology the Easy Way (Paperback)
I ordered this book because I was taking an Anatomy and Physiology class at my high school. I figured that it could probably help me understand some things better if I could have another source other than the book that I already use. It didn't fail me. This book basically went in just about the same order as my school book, and it provided me with in depth, yet practical, information about certain topics that I really couldn't comprehend from my teacher. It has a lot of good diagrams, and it explains the chemical processes of the body nicely. If you are in a class of this sort, I would advise you to get this book. It could really help you out if you just read it.

GREAT Introductory book,
This review is from: Anatomy and Physiology the Easy Way (Paperback)
Forget what A reader from ROY, WA USA said. That person obviously has no idea what they're talking about. They complain about the 'the excessive cost of the book!' The book is ONLY $14.95 ! For 535 pages! How excessive is that?! This is a great book. Extremely easy to read. It doesn't have everything, but it gives a great overview of all the hormones and what they do, a very detaild explanation of what causes blood to clot (intrinsic and extrinsic pathways) and the best pictures of details of synovial joints anywhere. Each chapter is about 16 pages long followed by about 9 pages of questions. A lot of large print with a lot of white space. This book, together with Anatomy and Physiology (Lippincott Professional Guides), ISBN: 1582551804 , (That is a good small, detailed, well illustrated book) or Anatomy and Physiology (Cliffs Quick Review), ISBN: 0764563734 (An equally small and detailed book, but no illustrations) is all you need.

This review is from: Anatomy and Physiology the Easy Way (Paperback)
One of the advantages of this clear and well-organized book is that it does not overwhelm a beginner. It's concise, useful, with decent colorless illustrations. More information than basic, but roughly 65 percent of what a college class would teach. I used it in conjunction with my class' textbook, because it does not overwhelm.
The most useful feature is the in-depth questions and answer section at the end of each chapter (about 50 per each chapter). They were a great barometer of how well I absorbed the material. If you need more, you can build up on this book by studying other more detailed books like the one by Marieb that by far more expensive.

I wish I had this book for A&P I. The class textbook was too complicated. This book is simple, direct, and easy to understand. The price was right, too. Give it a try.

This book includes extensive lessons on each specialized system in the body and at the end of each chapter presents you with a test that tests you on the material that was just studied. For any one who is interested in the human body, health, or even for someone who is starting pre-medical school

VERY HELPFUL!,

This review is from: Anatomy and Physiology the Easy Way (Barron's E-Z) (Paperback)
This book has been a lifesaver for me in my anatomy and physiology classes. It really simplifies the concepts I need to know (the class is textbook is written in doctor speak, not sure how any non-doctors could ever understand anything from it). I like that is has a lot of tables and illustrations to explain the different body systems. The best part though, are the quizzes at the end of each chapter. They are fill in the blank, multiple choice and true/false. I will say that this book along will not get you through a college A&P Class, it does not go into enough detail on some things. It is extremely helpful for understanding the basic concepts of each system. The details can be learned from class notes and internet sources. I have recommended this book to several class mates and they say it has helped them as well.

This review is from: Anatomy and Physiology the Easy Way (Barron's E-Z) (Paperback)
Anatomy and Physiology the Easy Way is a great book that summarizes and really drives home the main point of A&P classes. I bought it after I'd taken the first semester and wished that I'd had it all along. 1st semester I got a high B, but now I'm at a startling 96% with the help of this book. GET IT! You won't be disappointed! Its a great investment, even for starving college students.

Big Addition,
This review is from: Anatomy and Physiology the Easy Way (Barron's E-Z) (Paperback)
This is the first book I've purchased in the Easy Way series, and so far I am very impressed. All you have to do is read through the first chapter and you can see how well laid out the book is. It's almost like it's laid out in cliff note form; a condensed version of a textbook. Relatively easy to understand, great layout, and great array of topics covered in good depth. It's hard to get bored because there are no fluff paragraphs; every one has somethin important in it.
I will definitely buy more books from this series. |
