This small book and two companion books on locating records for ancestral births and marriages are an excellent addition to the genealogical researchers tool kit. The tips presented are easy to understand and can give the research new focus for finding records. I believe all three volumes should be included in lesson plans for beginning genealogists. The small size of these volumes belies the value of the contents.

Thought there would be actual places to search online, but just a bunch of suggestions including looking for paperwork left behind. If I had paperwork from the 1800's I wouldn't need this or any other book
