5.0 out of 5 stars Quality product for a good price
This is a nice, thick jar. True, there is no rubber seal around the lid, but it's only $10. If you need a jar to keep items fresh, you might want to spend a little more money for a nicer jar, but, if you just need a jar to put stuff in, this works great. I keep dog treats in it. The opening is nice and wide so I have no problems getting dog biscuits out of it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great jar but does not seal well
I bought this jar to replace a broken one from Ikea that held marshmallows and other treats. The broken one had a lid that had a plastic/rubber seal that kept air from getting in - this jar's lid does not have any seal and just more or less sits loosely on the top of the jar. I'm using it, but I wouldn't buy it again for the purpose I wanted.

So happy with this purchase! I use it for storing sugar and it looks so nice on the counter. No, it doesn't have a seal, but I'm actually glad it doesn't. I also bought the larger one to store flour.

I bought this jar to store dry goods in and have been very pleased with it. It's roomy and has a nice big opening that makes taking ingredients in and out a snap. It's made out of thick, heavy glass and it just looks really nice on my counter top.

These are perfect for storing the large quanities of teas I purchase off Amazon. They free up my cabinet space. Priced right too with the buy 4 and be charged for only 3, and free shipping because my total order was over $25. How can you beat it? With the price of gas so high I find myself shopping more and more at Amazon.

I wanted something to go into the kitchen that wasn't ugly. This was it! Works with anything. I even bought extras for my mother so she could throw out her banana yellow set! Highly recommended. Timeless look.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect canisters!, February 13, 2012
This review is from: Anchor Hocking 3-Quart Heritage Hill Jar with Glass Lid (Kitchen)
I have many of these jars and love them. I originally bought 3 for canisters. I hate tiny canisters, I like to dump the whole bag of flour or sugar in at a time. These were perfect for that use.

Then I started making lacto-fermented beverages and these jars turned out to be perfect for a fermenting vessel.

I have not noticed any problems with chipping or cracking. My original set is over a year old and gets used every single day, and after careful inspection, they are still in perfect condition. The glass is very thick and the lid nestles into the neck of the jar, so its a good fit, not airtight, but perfect as a canister set.
