Flip it over and it becomes a Chip N' Dip set, which can serve both hot and cold dips. Or use it for a punch bowl. Simply invert the pedestal so the foot is facing you then turn over the cake dome over so the knob is resting inside the foot, then fill the dome with punch. This item is beautiful, multi-functional, dishwasher, and refrigerator safe.

We had one of these for a couple of years before it was dropped by one of our neighbors. We are going to get another one. It is the only one on the market, that we could find, that has the raised rim on the side that is used as a server for veggies or chips. The opposite side from the cake plate, that is. Worked great except the pedestel/bowel is attatched to the plate with glue and it came off in the dishwasher. We simply reattched it using epoxy and never had another problem. Asthetically it is not the most beautiful serving ware but it can't be beat for its utility.

Ever had to stuff a 40 piece punch bowl set under the bed or a cake saver in the hall closet only to resort to filling a mixing bowl with punch at party time? We love to entertain but never have enough room for the guests OR the serving dishes. This is a sturdy (last a lifetime) cake plate, domed food server, or punch bowl in a flip. Easy to clean, easy to store - that is, if there's ever a time it's in not in service holding something.
