Cooking dinner. Heard a pop. The glass baking pan literally exploded in the oven and shattered into a million tiny pieces of glass. I was so grateful that I wasn't checking on it or getting it out of the oven at the time. Buyer Beware!

This is the first negative product review I have had to write on Amazon.

I was about to prepare lasagna in the large dish. Maybe there was heat rising from the oven. All I know is that I walked out of the kitchen for a moment, only to hear a loud crash. When I went back into the kitchen, there was glass EVERYWHERE! The dish had exploded leaving both large pieces and small shards of glass throughout the entire kitchen. Thankfully, I was not in the kitchen when it happened (thanks to going out to answer my phone!), and the other Thanksgiving meals were covered.

I don't know exactly how this happened, but I won't be using this brand of ovenware anymore.

It is a nice set of two anchor trays to have - easy to wash and easy to use.. just a little heavy but does work fine for me..

Great product, love it, can store in the fridge drawers as well. Don't put the covers in the dishwasher or oven, the containers themselves are very functional and I use it very often. Will recommend.

I consider myself an expert where this Anchor glassware is concerned.

I had 2 of these 2-Quart baking dishes for about 16 years...yep they were used regularly for 16 years...baking...dishwasher...fridge... both lid and glass.

The reason I am getting 2 of these sets is that I had one of my 16 year old glass pieces shatter in the oven. It was my own damn fault though...I left em in the fridge cold then immediately took them to the sink and sprayed them with HOT water to clean them before putting them in the dish washer. Guess what...next bake 1 of them shattered in the oven. The hot water on cold glass wrecked their thermal resistance. The other one is fine but I did the same exact thing to it...so...its going in the dumpster. Point is...all glassware can shatter like this. Its a common problem with Pyrex stuff too. The trick is...you can never shift the temperature of the glass rapidly...you will destroy its thermal resistance.

Anyways, This is the best 2-quart and 3-quart glass on the market. I know, Ive been shopping around. The Pyrex stuff comes with a lid but its dimensions are much larger than the anchor stuff for the same volume--wont fit easily in the fridge. Also, outside of Anchor and Pyrex it is tough to find something with a lid. After the oven...my stuff generally goes into the fridge withe a lid on top. Also, Anchor has released some new stuff...so this package above might be really hard to find in stores...grab it while you can.

I bought this product to replace a Pyrex pan that simply shattered into a thousand piecees in my oven and have been very happy with the purchase. The lids are a very handy feature and we use these pans often.

I ordered these to bake brownies and cornbread. I do that and more!!! they are great to make and take to parties and events where there is a potluck.
