Not an exact replacement,

We bought these glasses to replace some we had broken over the years. Our originals were purchased through Crate and Barrel about nine years ago. C&B no longer carries these glasses and was please to find them online. They looked exactly like the glasses we have; the shape, facets, the same Anchor Hocking name. When we received them, we were disappointed to find the quality of these are inferior to those we already have. The glass used to make them is not as clear as our originals. The thickness, especially at the base, is not as thick; I think we'll have to handle these with more care than our original glasses. And some of the facets are a bit sharp, not that you will get a cut from them but not as smooth as our originals.
One glass was broken in shipping but decided it was too much of a hassle to send them back. We will be keeping these in the back of the cabinet, only to use when all others are being used.

I have owned this set of glasses for many years and have gotten much use and pleasure from them. They are made, like most Anchor Hocking glasses of a heavy glass and have withstood much wear and use from our family. There is no chance that they will break with normal use. I noticed an Ad for this very same 16-pc set this week from K-Mart for only $9.99.

To echo another review, the quality of these glasses left quite a bit to be desired. I too purchased my original set from Crate and Barrel at a premium price. After many years of use and breakage of quite a few, I was looking to supplement the losses from my original set. I was ecstatic when I saw these glasses available on Amazon for a fraction of the price I paid for the set from Crate and Barrel.
In my original set, the bases of the glass were very thick (at least 2 inches vs. 1/4 of an inch for these ones) - lending for a much weightier glass. When you look at the glasses side by side, the differences between them are extremely conspicuous. Moreover, the craftsmenship of these glasses leave quite a bit to be desired - some have slight defects. Given the choice to buy these glasses again, I'd pass.
