Anchor Hocking Glass Loaf Pan

Exploded in the oven
350 degrees baking for nearly 40 minutes when it went off.
(6 Jan) I emailed Anchor Hocking about the explosion.

(12 Jan) Anchor Hocking replied:
"--if the damaged dish is still available
please return it to us for product analysis---"

"We would like you to know (tempered soda lime glass description)- --- It will generally break into many smaller rounded pieces (some larger), which are less likely to cause serious injury. It
is possible that something beyond our control or a small crack, chip or
bruise to the glass which may have occurred during shipping, handling or
storage might not lead to immediate breakage but to failure during
normal use at a later time. A warning on our Care/Use/Warranty and
ovenware packaging describes this mode of failure. "

They are sending a replacement, due to arrive in 3-4 weeks

Review response to their reply:
1. There were sharp shards all over
2. Amazon did not send any Anchor Hocking packaging, "Care/Use/Warranty". (I bought 2 of them--- is there a packaging issue with Amazon?)

I have given up on metal and silicon loaf pans. Love the results from my products baked in glass. Glass produces the desired browned and crispy crust and never will rust or turn color. And, it is always dishwasher reliable.

I think it is heinous that manufacturers of metal cookware keep purveying "non-stick" coatings on the uneducated populace: the coating is carcinogenic so when you scratch it with a metal knife (for cutting meatloaf, etc.) you are loosening the non-stick chemical and ingesting it. That is why the companies say to only use wood or plastic utensils on these wares. So these glass loaf pans solve the problem beautifully.

I have had 2 of these pans for 5 years and absolutely love them. I have a gas oven and other types of pans will dry out my bread, burn them, or cook them unevenly but with these my loaves come out perfect every time. Plus with these pans you don't have to worry about them scratching or rusting or the dangers of nonstick plus these are very easy to clean-up (which is great since I don't have a dish washer!). Oh, and all Anchor Hocking products are made in the US. Would highly recommend.

I have now purchased a total of 6 pans. I love them. Got so tired of having all my breads stick to my so called "non stick" pans. I found I could only get about 10 uses from non stick before baked goods eventually stick to the bottom of the pan. Everything just slides right out of these glass pans. Just butter them up and no sticking!
I will never go back to non stick. I'm "sticking"..with the old fashion way....it works.
