I wanted to love this,
This review is from: Anchor Hocking Glass Refrigerator Storage Container 2 Cup Size (Kitchen)
I've used the pyrex glass containers with plastic lids for over 10 years, and although they've held up well, I wanted a no-plastic solution for refrigerator food storage.I ordered this from Amazon, despite another review noting that the lids don't fit properly. Yup, they don't. I ordered 2 different sizes, and neither lid fits right, leaving my leftovers to dry out in the fridge. I could put up with that, but the darned things are also so heavy, and I'm not old and weak, but I'm getting tired of the weight of these things, especially when filled with food. The glass is so thick... On the positive side - they are better than plastic (any glass or ceramic container is), they look retro-cool, and they stack well in the fridge. But for me, I'm going back to using my pyrex with the plastic lids (I wash the lids by hand to prevent the plastic from breaking down).

Lids do not fit.,
This review is from: Anchor Hocking Glass Refrigerator Storage Container 2 Cup Size (Kitchen)
I bought a 12 cup, two 8 cup, and 4 two cup Anchor Hocking glass storage containers. They would be terrific if the lids/containers were level. Instead, the lids teeter-totter on top of the containers, on some as much as 1/4". Some are better than others, but none of them fit right.I will not purchase another Anchor Hocking product without being able to examine them in person first.

Lid doesn't seal,

I have this in 3 sizes. The smaller sizes are fine, but the fit of the lid on the large size is terrible. Not only does it not seal, but it fits so poorly that it wobbles! Very disappointed in the quality of this product.

Another reviewer really flipped out in their review against these containers. No, the lids do not teeter-totter. No, my food does not dry out or go bad sooner than they would in plastic. [No i do not work for Anchor Hocking or its retailers.] Skip all the plastic regarding your food: Especially do not cook food in a microwave using anything of plastic. These products are not too heavy: Besides, we need to be able to lift some weight in order to be healthy and alive. These are good products.

So old it's new!,
I purchased several these after reading of the danger of storing food in plastic containers. Food tastes better stored in glass, and they are so much prettier than plastic. My mother saw me pull one out of the fridge and excaimed "that is exactly what my grandmother used to have." One of the best improvements we've made in our home dining.

See them at Crate & Barrel first,
This review is from: Anchor Hocking Glass Refrigerator Storage Container 2 Cup Size (Kitchen)
They have these at Crate & Barrel if you're concerned about the lids. They don't fit perfectly, but that doesn't bother me so much as I normally don't store leftovers for too long. Great if you're replacing your old plastic containers.

Great for leftovers,
By Sue (Charlotte, NC) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Glass Storage Dishes (Kitchen)
I've had two of these for about a year, use them constantly and need more. I originally got them from Crate and Barrel but they don't sell them anymore so I am ordering from Amazon. These are the perfect size for putting a small amount of leftovers in the refrigerator, and when you want to reheat they go in the microwave lid and all, and when you're done both pieces go in the dishwasher. I also use them for cooking a single serving of vegetables in the microwave. Mine fit snugly with no wobbles but I don't assume they are airtight, but it doesn't seem to matter, food keeps just fine without drying out. Maybe it's my imagination but I think my leftovers actually stay good longer in one of these than when I had them in sealed plastic containers. You can't turn it upside down without it leaking or pack it in a lunchbox, but that's not what I need it for. Glass is great, nothing leaches out or in and mine still look like new. The only downside is there are no handles so it gets hot in the microwave and takes a bit of juggling with a hot pad if you need to drain it, but that also means they fit and stack very compactly in the fridge and cabinet.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Anchor Hocking 12 Cup Glass Refrigerator Storage (Kitchen)
These can be used to store anything, clean perfectly, look fine on the table and are actually square ... just like our frige. They can be stacked also both in the frig or in the cabinet.
