We've had a set of these for several years and just recently moved so we added on with this set. These glasses are heavy, well-made and solid. If you drop them, it's unlikely the glass itself will break (though it may break what it drops on, so be careful). The styling is simple, classy and can be used in just about every situation. These are sturdy glasses, so be prepared to have them for a while.

My issue with these is the quality control. They lean. Like the Tower of Pisa. Apparently, I am burdened with the obsession of needing symmetry. These things annoy the heck out of me when I use one. It's not the small tumblers that are an issue. It's the tall ones that you can clearly see. I even put a speed level on it to make sure I wasn't goofy. I returned the first set we gave to ourselves for Christmas. I just don't feel like exchanging them again to find the same issue with the next set. I let my wife use them and I've gone back to the old plastic "kid proof" cups.

On a good note, they are heavy and feel very sturdy. I like the pattern as well. Amazon shipped the 2nd set without any hassle and pre-paid the return. Packaging was pretty good and none arrived DOA.

Glasses tend to have a short life span in our house so I'm always on the search for heavier than average glasses. I don't like plastic due to BPH as well as the odd flavor/taste and insist upon lead-free glass. These are exactly the perfect size, heft etc for daily use. I originally purchased four at my local grocery store and was very impressed by how durable they were. Unfortunately, they only carried one size and were more than double the price of these. There is a slight difference in weight between those sold individually versus this packed set - the packed set is just a tad lighter due to a less thick base.

Overall a good set for day to day use. Dishwasher safe, lead-free, no bph. Attractive enough that you don't feel embarrassed to use yet tough enough to withstand the rigors of a busy household.

These are nice, heavy glasses. The only drawback I can find is the cavity in the underside of the glass that retains water in the dishwasher. I recently opened a cabinet door only to have one of the short glasses fall from about 5 feet, striking the vinyl floor and bouncing onto the hardwood floor of the adjacent dining room. Not a scratch on that glass! I couldn't believe it and certainly won't guarantee that kind of durability. I'd buy them again.

We bought a set around 15 years ago (on sale for $15 at a store no longer in business), and we've finally lost enough of them to warrant purchasing a new set. They've also been scratched-up a bit; not bad enough for us to toss the set, but others may not have held onto these as long as we have because of it.

PROS:
1) They are STURDY...or at least they used to be made incredibly well.
2) Very attractive design. We still receive compliments on the style.
3) Thick, heavy glass with a nicely weighted bottom. They're tough to knock over, and usually survive the impact.
4) The etched areas allow for a secure grip; easy to hold even when soapy &/or wet.
5) The diameter is nice; neither tapered or overly wide. You can really tip these babies back without the opposite side hitting the bridge of your nose (consistent diameter, not tapered).

CONS:
1) The bottoms of the glasses are concave, allowing water to collect if placed upright in the dishwasher or a sink-side rack. Forgetting to either tip the glass in either case &/or not sopping-up the puddles before picking them up will result in something getting wet...the items still in the dishwasher, your clothing, the floor, countertop, &/or the bottom of the cupboard.

This was the only "con" I could come up with, but it's enough for me to consider purchasing a different set. If anyone knows of a set that shares all the Pros listed above, but without the concave bottom, please let me know...or buy it. ;)

Ordered these for my daughter-in-law and she was very pleased with them. She said she could not believe how heavy and expensive feeling they were. I would order again for certain. Wouldn't hesitate to order as gift!

I was worried reading some of the other reviews about damaged products but I figured who cares being that Amazon takes everything back... anyhow I added some photos of my badly damaged box (both outer and inner boxes were smashed clean through)... But assuming the company reacted to other posts (I see their comments so I know they are reading this) the cups were packaged EXTREMELY WELL and if UPS cant break them then no one can... BRAVO!! [Note: my wife does have a knack for dropping them on my tile floor while washing them.. they don't bounce.. hence the purchase... :)]

PS: The bubble wrap they used for each glass is really great for storing christmas decorations so don't throw it out!!

My first box arrived with broken glasses, but the second was packaged much better. The glasses are heavy but feel good in the hand. I've received several compliments on them.

I am pleased with my purchase of these glasses. The quality of the glass is good and provides a nice "feel". They are VERY substantial. Actually, they are very heavy, and the large ones might prove to be too much for small children to handle. I did find that several of the smaller glasses had minor defects at the point where the side seam meets the rim. There is a small "bump" there, but it doesn't affect the appearance or the usefulness of the glass. I would recommend getting these glasses if you are looking for something casual and sturdy. Nothing dainty here!

This set of glasses are beautiful. Anyone would be happy with them, from a newlywed to a grandma that has a cabinet full of glasses like me. I took out all the glasses I had and gave them away so when I open the door I only see this beautiful set.
They are nice, thick, a little heavier than most, but not too heavy, and all in all a beautiful set. I just love them. The style is nice also.
