I was a little hesitant to buy this because there were no reviews, but since I did and was quite pleased with the tray I figured I would be the first to review.

I bought it mostly for the Deviled Egg Tray but since that will only get used 3-4 times a year I figured the veggie tray and plain serving tray would help make it more useful.

The outer/main tray is very solid clear glass that will blend into almost any table setting. The two inserts are solid plastic.

The veggie insert has a bowl in the center for dip and then just plastic arms radiating out from the center dish to create sections. So your dip will not run into the other items but the arms will not keep dry items (like crackers or chips) protected from any liquid from items in other sections (like olives, pickles or freshly washed veggies). This isn't a huge deal to me, but may be to someone else.

The Deviled egg tray holds 12 whole eggs (24 egg halves), unlike many that hold only 12-18 egg halves. The best surprise was that the Deviled egg tray will actually stand alone perfectly well so you can use it by itself and still use the veggie tray or the platter by itself. It is more polished looking in the tray, but doesn't look too unfinished - and people are going to be concentrating on the yummy deviled eggs anyway... There wouldn't really be anyway to cover tray without smooching the tops so this will only work if you don't need to transport the eggs after making, but if you are hosting this doubles the usefulness of this set.

This item was a pleasant surprise. I filled the base with ice and it kept the eggs cold for hours. The egg tray and the divided veggie & dip sections are clear plastic while the base is a sturdy glass. This tray is about half the price of another offered on Amazon that is specifically designed to hold ice underneath. I am glad I took a gamble ont his one, I think I have been rewarded with a product that will find more use in my home.

Was excited to find this product to use for an engagement party. I wanted a crystal dish for deviled eggs and couldn't find one until I found this one on Amazon.com. The idea to be able to put ice underneath is great especially for deviled eggs and shrimp.
