5.0 out of 5 stars Just what I've been searching for!
I have recently started cooking extra meals and then freezing them. I have been looking for containers that were freezer and oven safe and came with an airtight lid. These are perfect. The lids were very easy to use, you just press down on the center and all the air comes out and its sealed. I bought the 11-cup size and am glad I didn't go smaller. It is pretty close...

1.0 out of 5 stars They Keep Sending One instead of Four
I love the product, but the price is ridiculous for one container. The packaging is even marked as being for four containers, but it is only one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just right; value and function!, June 8, 2010

As a senior with arthritis, I made the transition back to glass storage very slowly. Having purchased a few different sets including pyrex and glasslock; they were all returned because of frustration with securing an air tight seal and struggling to get the lid on and closed.
That is until I ordered the four 4 & 1/4 cup set of Anchor Hocking food storage containers. Are they pricey? Yes, but the product is a true value. It takes me a simple press on the cover and the seal is done. I love the clear cover and the fact that my food stays fresh! From fresh cut berries to freezing lasagna to salad fixings. I can cook a meal with out the cover in my Breville convection toaster oven and then cover it and freeze it. Clean up is a breeze. I am looking forward to adding two large 11 cup rectangles to my collection.Anchor Hocking TrueSeal Glass Storage Container - Rectangular - 4¾ cupsSet of four ordered online from Amazon.

1.0 out of 5 stars BEWARE!!! item good, seller named Organize It not trustworthy, December 28, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I purchased several sets of the 6 two cup rounds and received one per set. Seems seller Organize realizes their mistake and after purchase contacts customers to let them know it is only for one container. A classic bait and switch. Opened a case against seller and Amazon refunded my payment. Wish Amazon would ban dishonest sellers from the site.

This review is from: Anchor Hocking 4 Piece 4 3/4-Cup Rectangle TrueSeal Food Storage Set (Kitchen)
I have 12 of the 4 3/4 cup containers, one of the smaller round versions, and one of the larger casserole versions. When I get my Wednesday organic produce delivery, I put everything away in my fridge all cut up and ready to use for the week, and these containers stack neatly and tightly on the shelves. It's easy to see what's in them. They're good for baking, microwaving, and freezing. The lids aren't lock-on, but I've never had one leak. I am delighted to be using glass rather than plastic.

For those who are confused by the description, "pieces" means just that- pieces. A lid is a piece and a container is a piece. I agree that this is misleading, but it's standard in cookware descriptions. A single saucepan with a lid will be described as including "2 pieces". I haven't seen a better price at Target, and I've looked. Also, I haven't seen Target stores in my area carrying the 4 3/4 cup loaf-shaped version, which is the one I find most versatile. I certainly like these no matter where I buy them.

3.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't seal as well as the small round containers, September 13, 2010

This review is from: Anchor Hocking 4 Piece 4 3/4-Cup Rectangle TrueSeal Food Storage Set (Kitchen)
We have two two-cup bowls, which are great. These dishes (i.e. 4 3/4-cup rectangular), however, do not seal well along the long sides. We're keeping them because we prefer the glass dishes over plastic, and we're not too worried about leaking from storing leftovers in the refrigerator. I would not recommend these for travel (e.g. lunch or picnic) due to the poor seals.

1.0 out of 5 stars Did not receive set, February 14, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Ordinarily I would give the seller the benefit of the doubt, but after reading about so many people having a similar experience, I wanted to add mine. I received one container, not 4 as described. Amazon is supposed to be sending out another set, hopefully that will be what I ordered. I would not order these again as it seems to be a continuing problem.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great!, March 7, 2011

I love these glass storage containers and the lids are easy to take on and off. The lids also hold the food in (no leaking). The only complaint is they don't seem to hold quite as much as they say they do.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not water-tight, March 27, 2011

This review is from: Anchor Hocking 4 Piece 4 3/4-Cup Rectangle TrueSeal Food Storage Set (Kitchen)
I read a bunch of reviews for this series from Anchor before ordering and was very excited to find glass containers that were oven-safe and supposedly had water-tight lids. When they arrived I filled one with water and turned it over. Water came out as it turned. I tried each lid and glass set with the same results. Honestly, if I'd known they weren't water-tight I would have bought one of the much cheaper and equally oven-safe pyrex products.

Pros: great for backing, clear lid
Cons: not water-tight

4.0 out of 5 stars Great product, weird fulfillment issues., February 24, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I ordered the 7 cup set, which the description clearly states "Includes 4 7-cup round TrueSeal food storage containers." However, I only received two. Having read the other reviews, I was aware that this might be a problem. So, I talked to Amazon customer service and they are now shipping me a new set at no charge. I'll be curious to see how many bowls I get this time!

Other than that, I'm very happy with this product so far. The glass is sturdy and the seal is good, though there is a bit of a learning curve as the lid is unlike any other airtight container lid I've owned. Since I pack my lunches, the fact that this container can go from oven to freezer to microwave to dishwasher is perfect, and I like knowing that it is BPA free. The price of $38.91 isn't bad either, especially since it is significantly less than getting the equivalent products from Pyrex.

So, if you are looking for an airtight glass food storage container this is a great choice - just keep in mind that your initial order might not be complete.

Edited to add: The "complete set" they shipped me only had two bowls also. That's fine by me since I now have four bowls total, but it also means that no one has fixed the fulfillment issues yet. Amazon, get your act together!
