A must for anyone interested in needlework!, August 1, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Anchor Manual of Needlework (Hardcover)
This book outlines a variety of needlework techniques ranging from hand and machine sewing to lacemaking and tapestry work. It is especially valuable as a reference when repairing an old piece of needlework or lace (e.g. a vintage wedding dress). The new edition lacks some of the more complex examples found in the original (1958) edition and the sewing machine info is updated (unfortunately for owners of antique machines), but it's an invaluable addition to any crafter's library.

Excellent Reference Book, August 30, 2009
This review is from: Anchor Manual of Needlework (Hardcover)
I bought this book because I was looking for a specific set of instructions on Puncetto Valsesiano. Upon receiving the book, I was amazed at its level of detail and completeness for many different varieties of needlework.
This is an excellent reference and resource book for people like me who enjoy a host of needle crafts from the obscurity of filet lace to the universality of knit and crochet.
I highly recommend this book for needleworkers, lacemakers in particular.
